What is the plot of 'Monsieur Spade'?

It's 1963 and the legendary Detective Sam Spade of San Francisco is enjoying his retirement in the South of France. However, the alleged return of his old foe changes everything. The brutal murders of six beloved nuns at a local convent shock the town.

As the leads are established, Detective Spade learns that the murders are somehow connected to a mysterious child who is believed to have great powers.

The official synopsis reads, "Detective Sam Spade - of 'The Maltese Falcon' fame - is pulled out of his tranquil retirement in France to investigate a series of brutal murders."

Clive Owen

Clive Owen plays the lead role of Detective Sam Spade in the upcoming series.

The English actor, 59, first gained recognition in the UK for playing the lead role in the ITV series 'Chancer' (1990-1991). His performance in the 1998 neo-noir crime thriller film 'Croupier' got him the Golden Globe award and a BAFTA award.

He was also nominated for an Academy Award for his performance in the romantic film 'Closer' (2004).

Rebecca Root is an English actress, comedian, and voice coach. She is best known for playing the leading role in the BBC Two sitcom 'Boy Meets Girl'. She has also appeared in 'The Queen's Gambit', and 'Sex Education'.

In 'Monsieur Spade', she will be seen in the role of Cynthia Fitzsimmons.

Cara Bossom

Cara Bosson is an Anglo-French actor born in 2005. She has appeared in the action thriller TV series 'Deep State' (2018-2019). She also played Ève, Marie Curie's younger daughter in the 2019 biographical drama film 'Radioactive'.

She will be seen playing the role of Teresa in Clive Owen's upcoming series.
