Who is Amirah Watson?

Amirah Watson is a young girl who first went missing in February 2020. Back then, she was only ten years old, with parents who had separated. More often than not, mothers tend to get custody of a child, but in Amirah’s case, it was her father, Mansoor Watson. Amirah went missing in Dillon County, South Carolina where was last seen after her father dropped her off to visit her mother, Tynesha Brooks.

Lucky for Amirah and her family, after six brutal weeks of not knowing where she might be, Amirah was found safe at a relative’s home in Atlanta, Georgia.

'Missing: Dead or Alive’ will tell viewers the real-life story of Amirah!

Without a doubt, the Netflix series 'Missing: Dead or Alive’ will do a deep dive into the case of Amirah Watson. In some ways, this case is simple but unique at the same time. There are still several missing pieces of the puzzle that have piqued the interest of viewers. Hopefully, 'Missing: Dead or Alive’ helps fill in these blanks. It will be interesting to see if 'Missing: Dead or Alive’ will feature Tynesha Brooks, along with Amirah and Mansoor, all of whom are important parts of this case.

There’s also 6 weeks’ worth of news that viewers need to be filled in on, and how Amirah ended up in Atalanta, Georgia, all the way from South Carolina. There could be an entire mini-series on this case, but one episode of 'Missing: Dead or Alive’ dedicated to Amirah’s case should answer some burning questions!

Where is Amirah Watson now?

As we mentioned before, this case is slightly unique compared to the other missing child cases we witness in true crime series.’ Amirah made it home safely and was brought back to her father in North Carolina. Thankfully, this missing case didn’t turn into a cold case. Hopefully, we hear Amirah’s side of the story in 'Missing: Dead or Alive'.

'Missing: Dead or Alive’ will be available to stream on Netflix on May 10, 2023.
