'Game of Thrones' prequel 'House of the Dragon': At 22, Milly Alcock is meant for more than the Iron Throne
Milly Alcock has won praise and legions of fans for her role as the young Rhaenyra Targaryen in 'House of the Dragon'. According to the novel, the character was King Viserys I's only living child by his first wife, Queen Aemma of House Arryn. At the age of eight, she was made her father's heir and grew up expecting to become the first ruling Queen of Westeros. Rhaenyra was a dragon rider whose mount was Syrax. Her claim to the Iron Throne was challenged by her younger half-brother, Aegon II Targaryen, sparking the civil war known as the Dance of the Dragons. She was the mother of two kings, Aegon III and Viserys II. Alcock is just 22 and was raised in Sydney, New South Wales, Australia.
The first episode of the prequlr series aired on Sunday, August 21. 'House of the Dragon' takes place two centuries before the War of the Five Kings. The show is based on George RR Martin's book 'Fire & Blood', along with the novella 'The Princess and the Queen' and the novelette 'The Rogue Prince'. The series is supposedly among the most expensive around the globe and has been talked about a lot.

Milly Alcock's entire career till now
Alcock first appeared as a teenager in the TV show 'Wonderland,' back in 2014 when she was 14. Some of her other earlier works include Isabella Barrett in 'High Life', Cindi Jackson in Series Three of 'Janet King' in 2017, and appearing in television ads for NBN, Cadbury, KFC, and Woolworths.
Alcock played a runaway teenager Meg, hitchhiking across 2,000 miles of the Australian outback in the Foxtel drama 'Upright', for which she won the Casting Guild of Australia Rising Star Award in 2018 and found recognition. She was also nominated for best comedy performer but unfortunately lost to her 'Upright' co-star Tim Minchin.
In 2021, Alcock landed a recurring role as the young Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, a dragon rider of pure Valyrian blood in 'House of the Dragon'. Alcock was in Queensland for the filming of the second season of 'Upright' in March.
In a recent interview with Screenrant, she expressed her thoughts on her character saying, "I think that Rhaenyra especially is a fighter. She fights for what she wants, and she doesn't like to take no for an answer. But I think that these two women deal with it entirely differently, and that's what makes the show quite interesting. Because I think that a lot of people can see themselves in Rhaenyra just as much as Alicent."
