'History in the making': Fans rejoice as Michelle Yeoh wins Best Actor (Female) at Oscars 2023 for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'

LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The Oscars are finally here, recognizing the performances of the incredibly talented actors and actresses who are on top of their game, and this year's competition is pretty tough, with compelling performances from each of the nominees. Michelle Yeoh, who has been nominated for her role as Evelyn Wang in the marvelous multiversal movie 'Everything Everywhere All at Once' has created a significant stepping stone in history by winning the award for 'Best Actor (Female)'.

'Everything Everywhere All at Once' was the primary domination at the Oscars with its 11 nominations in 10 categories and has managed to win 7 Oscars, including the categories 'Best Original Screenplay', 'Best Direction', 'Best Picture', 'Best Supporting Actress', 'Best Supporting Actor' and 'Best Actress in a Leading Role'. And the film has made several histories with Yeoh's win. Meanwhile, Yeoh has already won 'Golden Globes' and 'Screen Actors Guild Awards' for 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'.

'This is history in the making'

The second Yeoh was announced as the winner, the crowd at the Dolby Theatre erupted with joy. Her castmates, including Jamie Lee Curtis, Ke Huy Quan, and Stephanie Hsu hugged Yeoh with joy and cheered her. Yeoh started her acceptance speech by saying "Thank You". She further went on to add, "For all the little boys and girls who look like me watching tonight, this is the beacon of hope and possibilities. This is proof that dream big and dreams do come true. And ladies, don't let anybody tell you, you are ever past your prime. Never give up."

Yeoh went on to thank the director duo the Daniels, A24, the amazing cast, crew, and everyone involved in 'Everything Everywhere All at Once'. Yeoh dedicated the award to her 84-year-old mom mother and "all the moms in the world". Yeoh further added that she is taking the Oscar to her mother, who is in Malaysia. She also extended her love and thanks to her friends and family in Malaysia and Hong Kong. Finally, she thanked the Academy and concluded by adding "This is history in the making".

The historic win by Michelle Yeoh set the internet on fire, with endless praise coming for Yeoh. One fan added, "Terrific QUEEN Michelle Yeoh #Oscars you made it! wow history Truly asian proud," while another wrote, "She is always timeless in her commentary and thoughtful in her words. She deserves another Oscar for her humanity." An excited fan penned, "Everyone everywhere is happy #MichelleYeoh won!" while yet another fan wrote, "The fact she upped and said "don't ever let someone tell you you're past your prime." Truly inspirational! What a beautiful soul."



 



 



 



 

Yeoh has previously said that if she were to win an Oscar, it would be for the entire Asian community.

Michelle Yeoh has beaten out the nominees including Cate Blanchett ('Tár'), Ana de Armas ('Blonde'), Andrea Riseborough ('To Leslie') and Michelle Williams ('The Fabelmans').
