Michael B Jordan will produce and may star in Amazon Studios' thriller 'The Dwelling'
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA : 'The Dwelling', an unpublished short story by Aaron Jayh, will be turned into a movie by Michael B Jordan and Liz Raposo's Outlier Society. Jordan may play the lead in the adaptation. After the auction, Amazon Studios won the rights to the story. The story will be adapted by Aaron Guzikowski, well known for his work on 'Prisoners' and 'Raised by Wolves'. Together with Jordan and Raposo, Scott Glassgold of Ground Control will produce the upcoming thriller.
Several studios had reportedly bid during the auction which ultimately came down to Amazon and Netflix. This also seems like great news for Outlier Society, which made $250M worldwide with the success of 'Creed III'.

After his divorce, a retired pro football player in 'The Dwelling' finds a buried house in his backyard. Things go wrong when the mental effects of the blows he sustained on the field blur the line between reality and his imagination, per Deadline.
Looking at the synopsis of the movie, it looks like Jordan might just be the perfect fit. What's also interesting is that this tale also marks the eight short story for Glassgold’s Ground Control and Verve. The industry is actually seeing a boom in the adaptation of short stories, particularly in this genre, which helps attract more talent. Glassgold and his group have had success with many other adaptations of short stories, including 'I Am Not Alone' for Netflix and 'The Occupant' for New Line Cinema. Other popular upcoming movies include 'We Used to Live Here' and 'My Wife and I Bought a Ranch' for Netflix, 'Caretaker' for Universal, 'I Think My Mother-In-Law Is trying to Kill Me' for Sony, and 'Wilderness Reform' to Paramount.
