'Memories of the Alhambra': Park Shin-hye says goodbye to K-drama as fans reel from shocking death in episode 10
The leads of ‘Memories of the Alhambra’ are definitely getting a lot more romantic in the coming episodes
‘Memories of the Alhambra’ has definitely taken a turn for the sad as of the past weekend, especially considering the shocking death most of us did not see coming. And even as the fans continue to mourn this huge loss and contemplate ways to find the silver lining, the stars are saying goodbye to the show, having wrapped up the shooting.
On Sunday, December 30, Park Shin-hye, the star of the show, posted a selfie with fellow-star Park Hoon, who plays the second lead, CEO Cha Hyeong Suk in the K-drama. She captioned it, "Yesterday was the last day of filming for 'Memories of the Alhambra,' and CEO Cha has surprised me with a visit!"

Major Spoilers For Episodes 10 and 11
Even as the real life Hoon charms Shin-hye, his on-screen persona, Hyeong Suk continues to haunt Jin Woo (Hyun Bin), who lost another person in the game. In episodes 9 and 10 we saw our hero deal with the loss of his secretary/friend Jeong hun (Min Jin-woong). The duo had gone to Granada to prepare for a mission in the game, but they get separated when Jeong hun heads to the platform and Jin Woo stays in the wash room.
Both get attacked by the game villains, and while Jeong hun loses to his adversaries, Jin Woo who was nearly getting defeated gets saved uncannily when the train moves out of Granada bounds and the game gets halted. Even as Jin Woo remains in the blind regarding the death of his sidekick, he does not realize until late in to episode 10 that his “ally” in the game is his dead friend.
In the episode we see him fighting prisoner zombies in the dungeon before getting cornered, but just as he is about to give up, he sees the return of his ally. Just as he is about to celebrate the return of his friend, he realizes that much like Hyung-seok, his trusted secretary is dead in the real world. Heartbroken, Jin Woo realizes that whenever he is in danger, his ally would come to his rescue, but this piece of happy information does not make him happy, considering he had to lose a friend in the real world to gain an ally in the game world.
Meanwhile, Jin Woo and Hee joo are getting closer by the day and an intense romance may be on their cards come episode 11. She has realized the lengths to which Jin Woo is willing to go to find Se Joo, even as she learns about the deadly glitched in the game that her brother has created. Jin Woo, on the other hand, has come to believe that Se Joo reached out to him because the young man was haunted incessantly by the digital ghost of his friend Marco. He wanted the J One Holdings’ owner to help him fix the glitch.
The leads of ‘Memories of the Alhambra’ are definitely getting a lot more romantic in the coming episode than we are used to seeing. In fact, the promo for the upcoming episode 11 shows Jin Woo leaning in for a kiss with Hee joo.
