The latest episode of 'Mayor of Kingstown' that aired on November 28, 2021, opens with Milo in his prison cell, whilst reheating a now cold beverage. He takes a sip whilst staring blankly at a wall, at a clipping of a land auction at Michigan.
Miriam McLusky is seen talking to students about early colonial travel to the western part of the States. Mike approaches his mother after she's done with her class. She tells him that his brother's wife is newly pregnant, although only after creating a scene to call out Mike's recalcitrance about the current situation. Soon after, Miriam adds that Mike should offer his brother Kyle some solid advice, and be there for his family hereon, by making the right calls and decisions.
Mike goes over to Pete's office and tells him that he doesn't do any work as a part of favors. He also adds that the prison guards usually loosen things up but there will not be names taken for people who gett handouts for their involvement and for getting their hands dirty. This is officially the second gang that Mike has had had to deal with, whereas the remainder of this episode has him running after the third (and relatively new) gang.
Mike gets back to his cabin when Kyle shows up a little later. The McLusky brothers sit out on the porch, whilst drinking and openly chatting about Kyle's future; what with him on his way to be a new father and the lot.
Having said that, Kyle is seemingly hesitant to take up a job offer in Benton Harbor, given that it's clearly the safer choice. Although this is a big decision for Kyle to make, the two have always talked about getting out of Kingstown. However, they never spoke about where they'd go or what they'd do, mostly because all their lives have been in and around Kingstown.
Back at Mike's office, his assistant Rebecca reminds him to make sure he stays afloat so that they can plan accordingly, and pay their bills on time since they have to take up more clients for the business to flourish. She was insistent about this because Mike hadn't shown up to work for days now and Rebecca wonders if he lets his professional life affect his personal as well. In addition, she adds that gulping alcohol with coffee first thing in the A.M. isn't the most ideal way to start one's day, and doesn't give a pretty impression either. He ignores the last part but promises to hustle harder to bring in more money.
Soon after, Mike makes a causal visit to the cell and meets one of his prison guard friends. He wants to know what the inmates are requesting as favors. Both Mike and the guard devise a plan to make sure things are strict and orderly at the prison cell so that nobody acts out of line and things run smoothly.
He soon gets back to his office in time to meet Iris, who has information for Mike. She opens up to Mike saying that Milo has decided to make up and will offer him her body, to make amends. Listening to this, Mike gets furious at the possible filthy thought and mere idea, telling Iris that Kingstown is filled with wolves that will eventually destroy her.
Later that same day, Mike makes his way to a dog-fighting stadium where Carlos is seen. Mike soon finds out that Carlos was picked solely on a warrant for a whopping 4,000 USD of unpaid child support. The idea is that the police will have Carlos in Mike's hands, only if he makes the payment in time.
The episode ends with a violent chaotic scene at a pizza place that's on the case. Kyle has Ian join him via the back door of the spot so they can take down a prospective addict who is just about to rob the place clean. Unfortunately, the owner of the store fires a shot first, and we're all left to wonder how this one pans out. The added confusion doesn't help our case in making it clear as to how the pizza place robbery is connected to the other ongoing issues.
Although in hindsight, in this particular scene, we see how Kyle is absolutely in his element and zone with his job at the moment, even at a place like Kingstown, a city that's all things violent, night or day.
Will Kyle continue his job at Kingstown or leave the business? Stay tuned to find out what happens next!
