Mike (Jeremy Renner) and Kyle McLucsky (Taylor Handley), along with Ian Ferguson (Hugh Dillon) are on the top of the latest crime scene. A house has burned down, the result of which is two charred bodies, those of a woman and her child. Mind you, this scene is highly graphic but drives Mike to the end of the world to tear down the criminal who killed a 5-year-old boy.

Policemen, officers, firefighters, and the forensic team reach the site as well. At the same time, Mike gets information that the man of the house Kenny, is a hippie, who was trying to grow weed. He was in the house for a brief time but left in a huff when he couldn't find more cigarettes, forgetting to put out the one he was smoking and that resulted in the house being blown.

Where to go from here is certain. Mike doesn't want to leave any stone unturned. He has a surprise visit from Kenny himself and Mike advises to turn himself in and plead guilty. It's obvious that there's no other way out for Kenny.

Unfortunately, when Kenny confesses at the police station, the man is pounded by officers and sent straight to prison, where he is brutally abused. Mike is seemingly upset and frustrated at how the events unfurled. According to Mike's plan, Kenny was supposed to serve his time of life sentence, rotting behind bars. When Kenny turns himself in, the officials 'prep' him to start serving his time in the prison ward. Unfortunately, things take a different turn and go south when the inmates beat him black and blue. The last leg of the episode shows a now lifeless Kenny.

New episodes of 'Mayor of Kingstown' air every Sunday, at 3 am ET, on Paramount+.
