BERLIN, GERMANY: James Beaufort (Damian Hardung) and Ruby Bell's (Harriet Herbig-Matten) love-hate relationship takes an emotional turn in Episode 3 of 'Maxton Hall — The World Between Us'.

The episode begins with Ruby and James' impromptu visit to London where they check out the Victorian collection and try out the vintage outfits for the posters of Donation Gala.

However, when James' father humiliates her, she starts to distance herself from James. On the other hand, he expresses that he is not ashamed of her and goes to further lengths to make her feel special.

Initially hesitant, Ruby finally agrees to attend James' party. As she no longer fears being in the spotlight, she dances the night away with James.

Later, during the party, one of James' friends pushes Ruby into the swimming pool. Everyone laughs and records the prank while Ruby drowns in the pool.

James immediately comes to her rescue. He takes her in his arms, offers her his hoodie, and takes her home.

James comforts Ruby while she is shaken up by the recent incident. In a state of vulnerability, she opens up about a tragic accident.

Recalling a childhood memory, she shares that during a drowning incident in a river, her father bravely jumped in to rescue her.

Tragically, a collision with the motorboat during the rescue attempt resulted in his permanent disability.

This event has not only instilled a fear of water in her but also led her to harbor feelings of guilt regarding her father's disability.

James and Ruby are finally connecting at an emotional level, thus setting path for a deep and ever-lasting love. However, their brewing romance will be opposed by James' father in the upcoming episodes.
