Is Matt Damon in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'? You betcha! And he's not just playing Loki
Contains spoilers for 'Thor: Love and Thunder'
Matt Damon is back in the MCU, and this time, he's more than the Asgardian actor who plays Loki with the outrageously funny wig in 'Thor: Love and Thunder'. This time, Damon is seen without his wig as well. With Gorr, the God Butcher (Christian Bale) kidnapping the kids so as to lure Thor (Chris Hemsworth), the Asgard heroes, now comprising of Valkyrie (Tessa Thompson), Jane Foster/Thor (Natalie Portman), and Korg (Taika Waititi) figure out a way to get to Shadow Realm where Gorr keeps them hostage.
In a blink-and-miss sequence, Damon can be seen in his non-Loki avatar trying to figure out a way to help Thor rescue the children. It is a blink-and-miss role really, but the movie sees him star with Bale, who he last teamed up with in 2019's hit drama 'Ford v Ferrari'.

While Damon hasn't had a concrete role in the MCU, yet, he has been seen as the actor playing Loki for the second time since 'Thor: Ragnarok'. With a fifth Thor movie most definitely a possibility, the chances of seeing Damon are high, but it would mean a chance to give the decorated actor a more prominent role. Also returning alongside Damon was Luke Hemsworth as the actor who plays Thor. Prior to the release of the movie, Damon accidentally confirmed his role in the film.
I don't know if it's secret or not though everybody knows," he told Sirius XM. "I went down there to shoot. I think they sussed out because paparazzi took pictures of us so that they sussed out what we were doing. We were kind of reprising a cameo that we, Luke Hemsworth, and I did in the last one. And we had a ball and so Taika [Waititi] had us back again, to kind of run that joke back and upgrade it a little bit."
'Thor: Love and Thunder' releases July 8 in the US.
