Gordon Ramsay's 'MasterChef' returned with an all-new episode to wrap up the audition rounds on Wednesday, June 8, 2022. Fans were ecstatic to see a former best friend duo receive white aprons together and re-enter the hunt for the winning title.

On MasterChef, it's the last round of head-to-head competition for an apron. These clashes are once again tough and dramatic, with only six aprons remaining. Each 45-minute audition battle moves the hopefuls closer to making the top 20. Previously on 'MasterChef: Back to Win,' 14 bouts were shown, with Willie, Tommy, Michael, Cate, Stephen, Bowen, Dara, Shane, Amanda, Christian, Shanika, Emily, Brandi, and Derrick making the Top 20.

Former chefs demonstrated their ability to plate a delectable, restaurant-quality dish in the first round. With only six aprons remaining, the contenders fought to win one. First up is Fred, who finished 10th in Season 10 and is most remembered for a magnificent cake that caused Gordon to lick his plate after eating it. Fred now publishes his own culinary blog three times a week and has a sizable following. Felix, the next participant, finished seventh in Season 3. She has since worked on catering events, food styling, and numerous cuisine shows. She wishes she had cooked Chinese or Taiwanese food the last time she appeared on 'MasterChef.' Olivia, who finished eighth in Season 6, is up next. She works as a culinary stylist and author of recipe books. Bri, who finished eighth in Season 10, is the final contestant to join the round. She used to be a cocktail waitress, but now she concentrates on food photography and has a large social media following.

Felix serves up Pork Belly and Cabbage Dumplings with Chili Oil. Joe describes the aesthetics as "beautiful," while Gordon finds it "delicious," but faults the dough for being a little too thick. Bri's Pan Seared Sea bass is served with Fennell Purée, Tomato Medley, Pickled Serrano Peppers, and Tomato Water. Gordon says it looks like something from a magazine cover, and the fish is "spot on," however the purée isn't smooth enough. Joe claims that the dish is firing on all cylinders. Seasoning, according to Aaron, takes it to the next level. Fred's Dark Chocolate & Tofu Mousse is accompanied by Kumquat Purée, Black Cacao Ash, and Kinako Crumble. Gordon is dubious that tofu will work in this dessert, but soon calls the dish "exceptional" as soon as he tastes it. Joe defines it as "flying across a high wire." Olivia's Pistachio Crusted Lamb is served with White Bean & Feta Purée, Fennel Slaw, and Port Pomegranate Reduction. Joe thinks it's lovely but under-seasoned, while Aaron adores the purée. Gordon liked the meal, although the lamb chops' bottoms are mushy from resting in the purée. Fred and Bri, both from Season 10, earned white aprons and advanced to the Top 20.

Fans were excited to see the BFF duo make it back into the competition, together! One of them took to social media and shared their feeling ahead of the judges' verdict: "Bri and Fred might go through together #MasterChef", Another fan, who were rooting for the duo, wrote: "Would love for Fred and Bri to get aprons #MasterChef".

OG fans took to Twitter and talked about how happy they were to see the Chef duo succeed in life after their time together on Season 10. They tweet read: "#MasterChef Loved Bri and Fred individually in season 10, and seeing they've become a culinary power duo makes me happy!" Another fan wrote how they were glad to see the duo back in the competition: "I'm glad to see brie Fred and Gabriel back tonight @MASTERCHEFonFOX #MasterChef".

One fan welcomed the dream team on the competition by tweeting: "The dream team remains intact! @theplatingqueen and Fred get to pursue their second chance together! I'm proud of Felix and @livhungry for the stellar work they put into their dishes, too. @MASTERCHEFonFOX #MasterChef". However, one fan smell foul play as both the Chefs make back into the competition and claim that seeing two best friends going against each other to win the competition would make for a good TV. They wrote: "I feel like Bri and Fred are gonna go through just for the fact they're friends and it would make good TV for friends to compete. #MasterChef".
