'The Masked Singer': Marie and Donny Osmond or Clint and Lisa Altman Black, who are under the Snow Owls masks?

'The Masked Singer' preview revealed the participation of the Snow Owls, the first time in the show's history that a celebrity pair is performing as one unit

'The Masked Singer' Season 4 premiered tonight, September 23. Preceding the premiere night, a special one-hour preview of what fans could expect from the season had aired on Sunday, September 13. Within the special episode, all participating masks were revealed along with the first few clues related to the identity of the celebrities under the mask.

All masks are new this season, at least they've never been seen before on the US iteration of the show. Popcorn, broccoli, dragon, sun — these are just a few examples of the masks these seasons, all unique and quirky in their own ways. However, the show-stopping reveal from the preview was the Snow Owls. For the first time in 'Masked Singer' history, two celebrities were going to be performing as one unit.

It was quite a spectacle, the Snow Owls wheeling onto the stage, looking like they're breaking out of a giant egg. As elaborate as the mask is, the voice of the people behind the mask is ever so fabulous. They sang 'Say Something I'm Giving Up On You' by A Great Big World, proving that they can SING! and they even made Nicole Scherzinger cry. 

Some of the clues that have already been revealed about them on the show are, firstly, that they are a man-woman team. In the clue package video, they were heard saying, "You haven't seen us together in a while. But now it's time for a family reunion." The lady owl said that her partner was a prankster and a wise guy and in response, the latter squirted water from a rose on his lapel while saying, "anything for a good laugh."

In the video, they also revealed that they were in Hollywood together and share a love for Christmas. There were also wooden direction signs for Quarrel Canyon and Magnolia in their clue video. A castle in a forest, a pearl in a shell and Christmas lights on a birdhouse were also shown. 

While the judges guessed Amy Grant and Vince Gill (Robin Thicke), Donny and Marie Osmond (Jenny McCarthy, even though Donny was a Season 1 runner-up), and Eugene Levy and Catherine O’Hara (Dr Ken "wrong guesses only" Jeong), the audiences at home too have weighed in on who they think is under the mask. Among the guesses emerging from the audiences, the names of singer-songwriter Clint Black and his actress-singer wife Lisa Altman Black as well as singing couple Marie and Donny have been resounding. Here are a couple of comments. 

"#TheMaskedSinger The Snow Owls are Donny and Marie Osmond. The definitive clue was the rose. Marie's only hit song was "Paper Roses." "I don’t care if he’s been on before, the Snow Owls are Donny and Marie #TheMaskedSinger." "I'm going to go with Donny and Marie for the Snow Owls, especially after them clocking the head bob that Donny used as Peacock #TheMaskedSinger."

Another said, "f y’all don’t hear Clint and Lisa Black when the Snow Owls sing, what are you listening to? #TheMaskedSinger." A user said, "The snow owls are definitely #clintblack and his wife #lisahartmanblack Clint’s voice is so recognizable! #TheMaskedSinger #SnowOwlsMask." "Transitioned to #TheMaskedSinger for a bit - and it's so obvious that the Snow Owls are Clint Black and his wife Lisa Hartman-Black," shared another.
