Marvel's 'Runaways' season 3 'Cloak and Dagger' crossover could see Lieutenant Flores hire Tandy and Tyrone

In the comics, Lieutenant Flores hires Cloak and Dagger without informing Pride to find the kids who are currently missing. Cloak and Dagger, who do not know the intentions of Pride or the lieutenant, initially team up with them and find the Runaways

Marvel's television properties 'Runaways' and 'Cloak and Dagger' confirmed there will be a crossover event episode as a part of season 3 of 'Runaways' which will air December 13. This is the first crossover episode for the two shows and is something fans have been looking forward to since the premiere of both the shows.

In fact, when 'Cloak and Dagger' season 2 concluded in May with the last episode featuring both Dagger aka Tandy Bowen (Olivia Holt) and Cloak aka Tyrone Johnson (Aubrey Joseph) following the trail of  Destiny González, who washed up dead on a beach in Los Angeles, fans speculated the crossover will happen in the next season.

Following this setup and the crossover in the comics featured in Marvel 11 and 12 here's a plausible plotline for the upcoming episode. The makers of 'Cloak and Dagger' did change Tandy and Tyrone's origin story, which was much more severe in the comics, but it's plausible the crossover plot could stay more true to the comics because of where we left the characters of the two shows.

For instance, in 'Runaways' season 2, we saw that Gert Yorkes (Ariela Barer) and Old Lace were kidnapped by Gert's father Dale, while Chase Stein (Gregg Sulkin) and Karolina Dean (Virginia Gardner) are kidnapped by Jonah 2.0 who has taken over Victor's body for now. The ones who are out of Pride's reach are Leslie Dean (Annie Wersching), who is pregnant with Jonah's child, Alex Wilder (Rhenzy Feliz), Nico Minoru (Lyrica Okano) and Molly Hayes (Allegra Acosta). In the comics, Lieutenant Flores hires Cloak and Dagger without informing Pride to find the kids who are currently missing.

Cloak and Dagger, who do not know the intentions of Pride or the lieutenant, initially team up with them and find the Runaways. However, after a discussion with the Runaways, they realize the truth about how evil Pride is and join the Runaways to help them in their fight.

This is the first crossover in the comics. This is also the crossover fans are hoping will take shape in the upcoming episode. The crossovers that take place after this, need the characters of both the shows to be more mature before their plotlines are explored on the show.

When the cross over was confirmed by Marvel, Executive producer and head of Marvel Television, Jeph Loeb, said, "It’s so fun being able to do something that revels in the Mighty Marvel Manner! Having these young heroes crossover allows fans of both shows to see the adventure everyone has been waiting for and we’ve only hinted at."

It must be noted that 'Cloak and Dagger' season 3 is yet to be confirmed by Freeform so this cross over episode will be a great outing for fans of the Freeform show.
