Weddings are and always will be a big deal. Most people hope to have just one in their lifetime — a special day meant to celebrate their love, while surrounded by friends and family. However, not everyone is lucky enough to find their special someone. From striking out in the dating game to just not finding the right match, the list of being unlucky in love is endless.

There are some singles out there determined to find love, no matter what it takes. And sometimes a solution to finding love is signing up for a reality marriage show. Enter 'Married At First Sight', the show that partners 24 individuals together and follows the 12 couples' journey as they try to make it work as husband and wife. With a new season dropping sometime this year, here's what we know about 'Married At First Sight Australia' Season 8.

Release date

There is no official release date for 'Married At First Sight Australia’ Season 8, although it expected to drop sometime this year. Watch this space for more updates.

Plot

As per the official Channel 4 website, 'MAFS' Australia is about: "Aussie singles get hitched to spouses who they see for the first time on their wedding day." The show essentially follows the same format as the American one. The singles list out what they are looking for in a partner, along with information about themselves. The panel of experts then help them find the right match. Once paired up, the couples aren't allowed to meet each other until the day of their wedding, at the altar, no less. The cameras then follow the group on their honeymoon, as we see each of their stories play out vs how they all behave in a group setting.

By the end of the season, couples are given the choice to either be with their partner or part ways. Not all of these relationships end in happily ever afters. Like the seasons gone by, the next one is sure to be big on love, drama, laughter and heartache and we can't wait to see it all play out.
