'Malcom & Marie': Release date, plot, cast and all you need to know about the film shot during the pandemic
There might have been a global pandemic but our actors found a way to work around it. 'Euphoria' creator Sam Levinson shot the film 'Malcom & Marie' with Zendaya and John David Washington between June 17 and July 2 at the Caterpillar House in Carmel, California. The WGA, DGA and SAG-AFTRA reportedly all approved the production and the cast and crew had filmed under strict Covid-19 safety protocols and undertaken all precautions. According to Indie Wire, the location "allowed the production to use very little air conditioning or heat with the home’s glass doors providing fresh air".

The release date for the film has not been announced yet but on the feature film side this might be the first to release or stream quickly on platforms as other film productions have had to shut down.
Plot
The plot details for the film are scant but according to Deadline, the film is said to be similar to 'Marriage Story', a story of a couple in the middle of a divorce, starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. 'Malcom & Marie' is said to resonate with several social themes that the world is experiencing right now.

Zendaya
Zendaya, who began her career as a child model and singer, shot to fame with the lead role in 'Euphoria', the HBO mini-series. Her other supporting roles include 'Spider-Man: Homecoming' and 'Spider-Man: Far From Home', which made her a fan-favorite.
John David Washington
Former football player John David Washington made a name for himself in showbiz after starring in the series 'Ballers'. His performance as Ron Stallworth in Spike Lee's crime film 'BlacKkKlansman' (2018) earned him both Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
