'Making The Cut': 5 times Naomi Campbell was ruthless as a judge with her comments before the finale

'Hideous, with sprouts coming out of your shoulders. It's too loud,' Naomi commented on one of Sander Bos' accessible look

On Amazon Prime's 'Making The Cut', Naomi Campbell tells it like it is. She is straightforward, honest and never minces her words, which are some of the many reasons why she should probably be on the judges' panel of every fashion competition series.

Her feedback comes almost out of a genuine desire to get the designer onto the right track. Her comments may at times come across as sharp, even rude, but her intentions have only been to make the designer see things from her perspective.

The idea behind those few lines, which may seem attacking at first, is only just to polish the designer's journey on the show and beyond.

Some of her comments, if not savage, were funny. Titled 'Haute Couture' the second episode had her go: "Hideous, with sprouts coming out of your shoulders. It's too loud."

Sander Bos sent down an accessible look that had clusters of fabric sticking out of her perfectly-tailored dress. While Joseph Altuzarra, Nicole Richie and Heidi Klum seem to enjoy his work, Naomi was extremely dismissive of both of his looks. However, later she did appreciate the "workmanship" that went into making it.

But when it came to Martha Gottwald, Naomi didn't hold back. The supermodel was aghast when she found that the designer had sent her models wrapped around in fabric with just a few safety pins holding the clothes together.

"With Couture, there's a certain respect you have to have. I mean, it goes back centuries, and it's just...I feel like you disrespected the whole entire word and this assignment because we can all pin a wrap," Naomi commented. Martha was eliminated that week.

The 'Collaboration' episode wowed judges and the audience because most were able to merge their aesthetics and yet keep the language of their brand intact in the garments they released on to the runway.

Except for Joshua Hupper and Troy Arnold's confusing pieces, which left the judges wondering what they were even trying to put across. "There is no connection in either of these three outfits. You seem to like the not matching fabrics. But I think it's gone to be a recipe of disaster," Naomi shared, which was followed by Joshua's exit.

Troy was able to convince her and others that he deserved another shot at proving himself and what he can really do as a designer but his tight jacket over a long-sleeved dress for the 'Fight For Your Life' episode cut his journey short.

"It's difficult to put your arm in a dress with a sleeve inside a jacket. That would be my nightmare to have to model that outfit," Naomi expressed while Joseph thought his works didn't speak to him as a brand.

In Episode 7, 'Digital Marketing Campaign', Naomi was really there for Megan Smith's clothes but she didn't appreciate her photoshoot and the campaign for her collection.

"The campaign. That wasn't working. Your model, she is sitting with her legs open. Stand because we can't see from that picture what your outfit is. If I hadn't seen the fashion show I would not understand what that outfit is especially the one sitting. I'd be like — what is that? Is it a dress or a two-piece," the supermodel had said.

However, Naomi supported Megan when everyone wanted her out after the next assignment which fell short compared to what Esther Perbandt, Jonny Cota, and Sander produced.

She fought for her, tried her best to convince her colleagues that the Kansas-based designer has what it takes to make a global brand but the majority won.

This one time, she even cried when Sabato Russo was shown the exit door. She said she was sad to see him go and understood that streetwear is not for everyone. Proof that Naomi has a heart? She does.

Naomi's words have been invaluable. Every time she made a comment, it was only so that the designer could see where he or she was going wrong and was able to course-correct.  Meanwhile, fans have said how she was born to be a reality show judge
