'Making The Cut': Naomi dismisses Megan's fashion campaign, says 'your model is sitting with her legs open'

"Customers in 2020, they want to be a part of your brand. They want to be a part of your lifestyle," Heidi Klum said as she tasked the designers with their next assignment which would test their skills as an art director. The contestants were asked to work on their two looks, as usual, and create a digital marketing campaign.
"To be successful in this industry, you must be able to market your brand in a clear and captivating manner," Tim Gunn said and added, "The campaign and your looks should be representative of your brand."
Megan Smith was most excited and thrilled about the challenge, mainly because she had done something similar in the past and was looking forward to it. Her campaign was heavily-inspired by the Kimonos, a traditional garment that's T-shaped and wrapped in the front, and reflective of the Japanese culture.
Heidi seemed to love it and so did judge Joseph Altuzarra. "You know as soon as that suit came out, I think we're starting to get to know you as the tailor. It felt new and it felt exciting and it felt emotional," he commented.
However, Naomi Campbell had a very specific issue with Megan's campaign, particularly the photoshoot. Even though the Kansas-based designer thought the pictures came out well and were true to what her design aesthetic stood for, the supermodel wasn't here for it.
"The campaign. That wasn't working. Your model, she is sitting with her legs open. Stand because we can't see from that picture what your outfit is. If I hadn't seen the fashion show I would not understand what that outfit is especially the one sitting. I'd be like — what is that? Is it a dress or a two-piece," Naomi shared but also redeemed the sharp comments by praising her garments, which she thought stood out by themselves.
Megan was this close to winning her first challenge, but Jonny Cota's two-look collection 'Tokyo Punks' stood in the way and eventually, took the cake. However, it wasn't an easy win for him.
Naomi thought his label name, Skingraft, needed to change. Even though Jonny intends to name his label after him, that transition was going to be a gradual one, he confirmed. This was Jonny's second win.
Ji Wong, unfortunately, was shown the doors owing to her repetitive clothes and poor show campaign. The judges' panel thought her pants-and-top look was ordinary and least flattering of all of her works that she had shown till now.
