DENVER, COLORADO: 'Married At First Sight'' Season 17 is turning more dramatic as decision day comes closer. In the latest episode of the Lifetime show, 'MAFS' couple Brennan Shoykhet and Emily Balch returned from their honeymoon and the next step was to move in together.

The couple explored each other's houses and admitted that they were "excited" to move in together. However, Brennan dropped a bombshell, claiming that he wanted a few days alone at his home and would "reconvene" with his wife in a few days.

Brennan's rejection to move in together baffled Emily and she asked expert Pastor Cal for help as she "personally could use someone to help figure this out." She admitted, "I felt like he really liked me in the beginning but then I started feeling like unsure."

After Pastor Cal asked him the reason for not moving in together, Brennan admitted, "I think I don't feel any type of romance right now," adding that he didn't want to touch her.

Emily wanted to figure out what went wrong between them so she asked Brennan, "I just need you to tell me if you're physically attracted to me or not. Don't think you're gonna hurt my feelings. You're hurting my feelings when you just don't tell me everything."

However, Brennan's confession fumed viewers and they took to X (formerly Twitter) to express their outrage. A viewer questioned, "Brennan seems really critical of Emily. Was he ever willing to give this a chance?"

Another person added, "Now Brennan wants to “reevaluate in a few days”??? wtf!! Emily is a saint actually. He seemed to be totally into her during the honeymoon." Another social media user penned, "Reconvene in a few days??? Brennan don't forget you're married booka butt."

Another furious X user noted, "Brennan has checked out. He’s bouta send Emily right back to the streets #MAFS he clearly wasn’t ready. What u mean u drained after a week? What a joke."

One more social media user penned, "Brennan the living apart is a you thing not a WE thing. You're the one that came to the realization that YOU have the real world to get back to. And poor Emily is trying to cover for him."

Another critic also said, "Brennan pretending to be into Emily through the honeymoon to the point she has genuine feelings for him then pulling a 180 when they get home and saying (without saying it) that he’s not attracted to her makes him look s**ttier than if he was honest from the jump."

Emily Balch's 'fun' comment jeopardizes her marriage

During 'MAFS' Season 17, amid their honeymoon in Mexico, Emily asked Brennan jokingly if he knew how to have fun. However, Brennan got offended by Emily's question and asked, "Why would you ask me that?"

Emily emphasized she was kidding. However, he wouldn't let it go. He admitted to the cameras, "Do you like to have fun? What the f**k is that?"

He denied being angry with Emily's comment and noted, "Trust me, you’ll know when I’m mad actually." However, viewers speculated that Emily's "fun" comment might have changed Brenna's feelings and sabotaged their relationship.

A social media user commented, "I think it was the “youre not fun” comment that made him pull back." Another person added, "Brennan is still mad by that “Do you know how to have fun.” joke"

Another critic noted, "This guy lost it on the honeymoon when she asked 'Are you having fun?'" "Don't tell me this man is still stuck on 'did you have fun?'" another viewer said.

Another internet user stated, "Honestly, I would've been down with Brennan after the fun joke. His personality is so dry and it’s clear he's holding back."

Why did 'MAFS' experts match Brennan Shoykhet and Emily Balch?

'MAFS' Season 17 experts Dr Pepper Schwartz, Pastor Calvin 'Cal' Roberson, and Dr Pia Hole thought Brennan Shoykhet and Emily Balch could be a good match despite their different personalities.

Emily confessed during the premiere of the Lifetime show that she has been the "life of the party" and was ready for a commitment despite never having been in a "serious" relationship. Meanwhile, Brennan held a completely different personality.

During the premiere, Pastor Cal explained, "They are two ambitious and adventurous individuals with successful careers, vibrant social lives, and strong values that we believe align perfectly."

He added, "Even though Emily’s never been in a serious relationship, we’re confident she’s ready to be the supportive and longing partner that Brennan longs for."
