'Made In Staten Island' Season 1: MTV's mob teen reality show receives backlash, several petitions to cancel before it airs

Even before the reality show aired, MTV's 'Made In Staten Island,' faced the wrath of the islanders who believe the show is destroying the reputation of their hometown

MTV's upcoming reality show surrounding the seven teens of Staten Island has been subjected to major backlash, so much so that a petition to cancel the show, or at least, remove the name of the borough from the title has received almost 7,000 signatures.

'Made In Staten Island,' is slated to premiere January 14, but the controversy surrounding it started almost instantly when the network announced 'Mob Wives' star, Karen Gravano, would be the executive producer of the new show starring her daughter, Karina Seabrook.
