'Macho: The Hector Camacho Story': Release date, plot, trailer and all you need to know about Showtime docu on legendary boxer
It has been a year where sports documentary reigned supreme in the absence of shows. 'The Last Dance', 'Shaq Life' and 'Basketball County: In The Water' were some of the most widely watched docu-series as the world slowly limped back to normalcy. As the year draws to a close, Showtime Sports brings in another documentary around the life and times of Hector Camacho, the Puerto Rican professional boxer known for his lightning speed and flamboyance in the ring.
The much-anticipated Showtime documentary is set for a December release. Here's a quick primer ahead of the premiere:

'Macho: The Hector Camacho Story' releases on December 4 at 9 pm ET/PT on Showtime.
Plot
The official synopsis reads: "A hard-hitting look at the rise, fall and untimely death of one of boxing’s most colorful champions. Hector Camacho’s dynamic speed, footwork, and power made him a fighter to be reckoned with, but it was his flamboyance and showmanship that ushered in a new era in boxing. The film chronicles his epic battles inside the ring, his struggles with addiction outside of it, and the mystery of the double homicide that claimed his life. It’s an unflinching portrait of a fighter who transcended the sport but ultimately couldn’t defeat his own demons."
According to WorldBoxingNews, the documentary features rare and revealing interviews with his mother, Maria Matias, sisters, wife Amy and son Hector Jr Macho' also takes a look at Camacho's troubled life where he battled drug abuse and the unfortunate death in November 2012.
Writer/Director
'Macho' is directed by two-time Emmy Award winner Eric Drath with Aaron Cohen serving as the writer. Darth is best-known for 'No Mas,' which revolved around the controversial finish of the 1980 rematch between boxing legends, Sugar Ray Leonard and Roberto Durán.

The announcement of the documentary has already garnered attention on social media platforms with fans eagerly awaiting the release. "The East Harlem Blur.
