'L.U.C.A. The Beginning': Meet Kim Rae Won, Lee Da Hee, Kim Sang Ho and the rest of the cast of new K-drama
South Korean TV series ‘L.U.C.A. The Beginning’ is slated to release on February 1, 2021 on tvN. The 12 episodes of the series will be aired every Monday and Tuesday till March 9, 2021.
The series, is based on Charles Darwin’s theory of evolution that connects every species on earth to a common ancestor. In fact, the name of the series itself is an acronym of ‘Last Universal Common Ancestor’.
The trailer of the upcoming series looks promising with a compact storyline, stunning cinematography and action sequences, and of course, a great cast.

Kim Rae Won
Popular actor Kim Rae Won plays the lead role of protagonist Ji Oh.
Ji Oh is someone who doesn’t talk about his emotions with others. He is aware of a special power he has and he is also keeping it a secret. But, he is uncertain about who he really is. As he tries to untangle the mysteries around him, he is chased by mysterious figures.
Kim Rae-Won was last seen in the 2017 drama series ‘Black Knight: The Man Who Guards Me’. He is known for his acclaimed role in the romantic comedy series “Rooftop Room Cat”. The 39-year-old actor also starred in lead roles in “My Little Bride", "Love Story in Harvard", "Gourmet", "A Thousand Days' Promise", "Punch" and "Doctors”.
Lee Da Hee
The 35-year-old model and actress Lee Da Hee plays the main role of Gu Reum.
Gu Reum is a feisty detective who is portrayed to be very determined and efficient. Her parents had disappeared in her childhood. As a professional now, she tries to unravel the truth behind her parents’ disappearance.
Lee Da Hee plays the role of detective Gu Reum. She started out as a supporting actress in K-dramas, but her breakout was acting in the 2013 SBS courtroom drama ‘I Can Hear Your Voice’, for which she earned several awards and recognitions. She was last seen in the 2019 drama ‘Search: WWW’.
Kim Sung Oh
42-year-old actor Kim Sung Oh plays a supporting role of Lee Son. He is a seasoned actor known for his roles in the TV series ‘Secret Garden’ and the film ‘The Man from Nowhere’.
Kim Sang Ho
50-year-old veteran actor Kim Sang Ho also appears in the series in the supporting role of Choi Jin Hwan. The actor is a well-known face in film, television, and theater. His performance in ‘The Happy Life’ earned him the 2007 Best Supporting Actor award at Blue Dragon Film Awards.
Jung Da Eun
The 26-year-old actress is a former singer who was the main vocalist and maknae in the K-Pop group 2EYES. She plays the role of Choi Yoo Na in this series.
Park Hyuk Kwon
Popular actor Park Hyuk Kwon will be seen appearing in the role of Kim Cheol Soo. He started his acting career in 1993 working with the theater troupe Sanulrim. He first appeared on TV in MBC’s ‘White Tower’ in 2007. Ever since he has acted in numerous TV dramas, most notably ‘Time Between Dog’, ‘Wolf’, ‘Painter of the Wind’, ‘Dream High’, ‘My Princess’, ‘Midas’, ‘You're So Pretty’, ‘Manny’, and ‘Tree With Deep Roots’. He received high acclaim for his acting in the movies ‘Chaw’ and ‘Secret Reunion'.
