'Lovestruck in the City' Episode 13: Why is Lee Eun-o unable to tell Jae-won the truth? She kisses him instead
'Lovestruck in the City' Episode 13 sees Lee Eun-o (Kim Ji-won) deftly deflect attention from herself and Park Jae-won (Ji Chang-wook) when the two get caught by her friends at the entrance to her home. They wonder what the two are doing together so early in the day. None of Eun-o's friends — Geon, Rin-i or Kyeong-jun — know of Eun-o's connection to Jae-won or how the two of them had fallen in love when Eun-o had been in Yangyang. She had lied about her name and that is why Jae-won was unable to figure out who she was or where she was much earlier.
So when Rin-i and Geon end up seeing the two of them together, Eun-o lies to them again and tells them that the two of them were in a meeting regarding the bidding process to apply for marketing one of the products. Later, the two of them even end up getting cockles ramyeon together with Rin-i and Geon and the tension between the two of them is palpable. Every moment with Jae-won is hard for Eun-o because she cannot tell him the truth.

She cannot tell the truth about not having forgotten him, and neither can she tell him about why she had to lie about her name in the first place. So all she does is get angry at him. However, Jae-won already knows a part of the reason why she had ended up in Yangyang for three months. It is just a matter of time before he finds out the truth about her not having forgotten him and her reaction to what would happen when he does find out is what keeps us hooked.
Of course, 'Lovestruck in the City' did not disappoint us. After having met her, Jae-won ensures that she applies to his company as a bidder, gets financially stable, then he begins to find out how she had lived after having returned from Yangyang. He stalks her on social media and finds out that she had lied about having forgotten all the happy moments that the two of them had shared together.
He sees each of her Instagram post and realizes that she had never gotten over him. So he ends up driving over to her place to figure out what exactly happened that night. In his hurry, he ends up accidentally crashing into Eun-o's car and instead of asking her why she is lying to him, the two of them end up arguing about the car. They speak about everything else except why she had lied all this while and just as he is fighting, he coincidentally ends up seeing the rings that Eun-o had worn around her neck in a chain.
He is shocked because all this while she had hurt him deeply by telling him that she had removed the ring. He had also thrown his ring away into the river when he had met her for the first time in months after learning that she had lied to him about everything. To see, not just her ring but also his, that's when Jae-won loses it and ends up asking her what is up with her. With all the frustration that is built up within her, she ends up dragging him down with a kiss so passionate that he loses reason.
The episode ends with the two of them kissing each other, reminding us of when the two were together in Yangyang. Nothing between them but the chemistry. Initially, before they had fallen in love, this was how things were between them, and that is where we are back to.
