Bush family’s double celebration

‘Today’ host Jenna Bush Hager took to Instagram to share a heartwarming post on her mother's 77th birthday.

On November 5, she posted a picture of herself seated beside her twin sister, Barbara, at a dinner table.

Their parents- former President George W. Bush and Laura Bush- were seated across them. In the second photo, the former President and First Lady were seated side by side, smiling for the picture.

Hager wrote, “Happiest birthday to our darling mama! (We’re) so happy to get to spend the night with you just the four of us! We love you so!”

November 5 also marked the wedding anniversary of the former President and First Lady who had tied the knot in 1977.

In the caption, Hager added, "And happiest 46 years to our parents. Love you both!"

Prior to their family dinner, Hager and Barbara joined their mother on her birthday during a stop on their book tour for ‘Love Comes First'. The book will be released on November 7.

At the George W. Bush Presidential Center in Dallas, they held a meet-and-greet to promote their book and also took out time to celebrate their mother's birthday.

In an Instagram video, Hager and Barbara were seen their mother, who held a birthday cake.

With microphones in their hands, the sisters sang ‘Happy Birthday’ for their mom. Other people present also joined in.

The caption said, “Happiest of birthdays to Mrs. @laurawbush, from all of us with love! At today’s Love Comes First event with Jenna and Barbara, the first guests into the event joined the first daughters in celebration of their mom.”

Jenna Bush Hager shares her mother's advice

Throughout the years, Jenna Bush Hager has consistently celebrated her mother, highlighting the invaluable advice she has received from her mother.

Back in April, Hager fondly recalled the guidance her mother provided before she joined the University of Texas at Austin.

She shared on ‘Today’ show, "One piece of advice that my mom tried to teach me early on was to treat college like a job. So, go to campus early, stay on campus, and stay dedicated."

Hager also shared how her mother was mindful of the way she talked about herself and her appearance in front of her daughters. This has influenced how the ‘Today’ host raises her daughters, Mila and Poppy.

She said, “She never said things like, ‘Gosh, my hair looks terrible. Or, ‘I look terrible'. Or ‘This dress looks bad on me'."

“And somebody (once) said, ‘Well I can’t believe she never had that talk to herself.’ And I said, ‘No, I’m sure she said it to herself, but she never said it out loud in front of her girls',” Hager added.
