The last four episodes of the first installment of 'Love Life' dropped on Thursday, June 11, 2020, on HBO Max and fans were already ready for Season 2. The romantic anthology debuted with the story of Darby Carter played by Anna Kendrick and viewers were taken into Carter's whirlwind relationships and heartbreaks. The streaming service marked its first original series renewal with the announcement of the second season of 'Love Life' on June 11, 2020, and here is what we know of the upcoming release.

Plot
Since the series is a season anthology, fans were aware that the second season would mean a different protagonist but we may not have to say goodbye to Kendric. As per the official statement, "Season two will remain set in New York City but will focus on a new character’s journey – one which explores what happens when you’ve lived your whole life knowing who your soulmate is, only to find out years into a marriage that it’s not the right fit at all. The new season will also cleverly key off characters in season one, and 'Darby (Anna Kendrick) will appear occasionally."
“We couldn’t be more excited to make another season of Love Life with the amazing people at HBO Max and Lionsgate Television and to have the opportunity to explore a whole new protagonist. If only as a way to continue processing our own romantic damage,” said creator, co-showrunner and executive producer Sam Boyd and co-showrunner and executive producer Bridget Bedard in an official statement with executive producer and Season One lead Anna Kendrick echoing the same sentiments saying, “It’s been a labor of love working with everyone on Love Life and all who helped shaped Darby and brought her story to life. I am excited to be able to collaborate again with the team on a new character and their journey."

The romantic anthology is produced by Lionsgate Television and Feigco Entertainment and is curated from creator Sam Boyd. Boyd, co-showrunner Bridget Bedard, Anna Kendrick, Paul Feig (A Simple Favor, Bridesmaids) and Dan Magnante (Someone Great) all serve as executive producers.
