'Love Life' is an upcoming American romantic comedy anthology television series that was created by Sam Boyd. It will debut on the HBO Max streaming service as an original. The series will have 10 episodes but it's an anthology by season and not episodes. HBO Max is an upcoming American subscription video-on-demand streaming service from WarnerMedia Entertainment and will launch on May 27, 2020.

Release date

'Love Life' is set to premiere on May 27, 2020.

Plot

The official synopsis of the anthology comedy series says: "It is about the journey from first love to last love, and how the people we’re with along the way make us into who we are when we finally end up with someone forever. The series will follow a different protagonist’s quest for love each season, with each half-hour episode telling the story of one of their relationships."

Anna Kendrick, who has been highly acclaimed for her roles in 'Pitch Perfect' series (2012-2017) as Beca Mitchell and 'A Simple Favor', will star in the first season of 'Love Life' as Darby. Kendrick's works include a supporting role as Jessica Stanley in 'The Twilight Saga' (2008–2012), Jason Reitman's film 'Up in the Air', '50/50' (2011), 'End of Watch' (2012), 'Into the Woods' (2014), 'Cake' (2014) and 'Mike and Dave Need Wedding Dates' (2016). She also published a memoir in 2016 titled 'Scrappy Little Nobody.'

Since the protagonist will be changing every season, we can expect a varied cast as the series continues. Other cast members in this season include Lesley Manville, Peter Vack as Jim, Sasha Compere as Mallory, Scoot McNairy as Bradley and Zoe Chao as Sara.

Creators

Kendrick will serve as an executive producer alongside Paul Feig, Dan Magnante, series creator Boyd and co-showrunner Bridget Bedard. The series is directed and written by Boyd and will be a Feigco Entertainment and Lionsgate Television production.

Trailer

The sweet and empowering trailer shows the evolution of love's past as Darby struggles with the severity of relationships and wants to be the woman that "knows what she wants". A hilarious look at the reality of heartbreaks, friendships and standing strong on your own feet.
