'Loki' casts 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' actress Wunmi Mosaku in the Disney+ series
The Disney+ series 'Loki' generated a feverish amount of hype ever since it was announced. Recently, a teaser showing tantalizing clips from 'The Falcon And The Winter Soldier', 'WandaVision' and 'Loki' was released and fans are now eager to see their favorite anti-hero back in action. Though Loki was killed by Thanos in 'Avengers: Infinity War', he seems to have escaped to an alternate timeline in 'Avengers: Endgame'. The plot of the upcoming series is still under wraps.
Now, the 'Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice' actress Wunmi Mosaku has been added to the cast. Mosaku had played Kahina Ziri in the DC film — an immigrant to Metropolis who was manipulated into lying to the Congress about Superman. She was also present in 'Luther'.
Photos of her from 'Loki' sets have surfaced online, though there has been no confirmation from the studio yet.
Mosaku's role in 'Batman Vs Superman' was not much. However, it was more tragic in the extended cut that was released to home videos. Here, it was revealed she was being blackmailed by Luthor to lie about Superman and that Luthor had her killed by Anatoly Knyazev to keep her from testifying.
Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige had confirmed that 'Loki' will directly tie into 'Doctor Strange In The Multiverse Of Madness'. Feige revealed the Multiverse of Madness and Loki connection to Bloomberg, saying, "I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before. But it does (connect)."
Earlier, Feige had mentioned that 'Loki', 'WandaVision', 'The Falcon and the Winter Soldier', 'Hawkeye', and later 'Ms. Marvel', 'She-Hulk' and 'Moon Knight' will need to be watched to understand the later films. "These episodes will intersect with the movies in a very big way. It's a totally new form of storytelling that we get to play with and explore," Feige had told Variety, noting that the connections between the films and the big-budget Disney+ television series are part of "the first long-form narrative that Marvel Studios has done".
'Loki' will release in 2021.
