NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent 'Today with Hoda and Jenna' episode, rapper LL Cool J brutally mocked the NBC hosts Hoda Kotb and Jenna Bush Hager on-air over a hat saga.

On Wednesday, August 2, Kotb and Hager welcomed James Todd Smith aka LL Cool J, for a fun interaction. The hip-hop star played a game with the hosts, answering five questions about his musical performances. However, he took a jab at Kotb and Hager when the duo attempted once again to give him a "Hoda and Jenna" hat, which was clearly small for him.

'I wouldn’t wear this'

By the end of the 'Today' segment, the fun wasn't over as Hager asked LL Cool J, "Before you go, we know you love a hat. I don’t know if you remember the last time, we gave you that beanie," to which the rapper responded, "Yea, yea, one that wouldn’t fit" as the clip from a previous episode about the said topic flashed on the screen. It showed the hosts presenting a "Hoda and Kotb" beanie to LL Cool J, which he claims to have liked, but wasn’t sure if it would fit his head.

Then Hager went on to say, "We have another one for you," as Kotb pulled it out from her side of the sofa. She showed off the hat to the audience and LL Cool J, with him giving a stunned look as Kotb and Hager burst into laughter. After Hager asked LL Cool J to wear the had, he stated, "I mean, if I’m going to…Oh, man. Nah, I wouldn’t wear this." To which Hager responded, "But we made it just for you," and LL Cool J replied, "First of all, I mean, you have seen me, you know. My head ain’t fitting in this. Let’s not even go there. But I will frame it. I will put it in a lightbox, you know? One of my celebrity moments." "Every time you come back, we’re gonna make you a different hat," said Hager concluding the segment.
