New shows on Amazon Prime Video in January 2020: From 'Bug Diaries’ to ‘All Or Nothing: CBF’

Amazon Prime Video is preparing to kick start 2020 by offering a series of new shows on its streaming platform. From animated films to comedy specials that promise a hysterical laugh, entertainment buffs can simply turn to Amazon to make their year further interesting. Ahead of their premiere, have a look at our compilation below that briefly takes you through the upcoming shows and tells you what they have to offer. 

‘Bug Diaries: Season 1B’ — Amazon original ‘Bug Diaries’ returns with season 1B on January 3. It is an amalgamation of three children’s books — ‘Diary of a Worm’, ‘Diary of a Spider’ and ‘Diary of a Fly’. The series created for preschoolers sees three bugs — Fly, Spider and Worm — highlighting important life lessons for its young audience. 

‘Ilana Glazer: The Planet is Burning’ — American comedian and writer llana Glazer will present a solo act on stage in an hour-long special, which is scheduled to hit Amazon on January 3. The ‘Broad City’ fame will be seen discussing matters concerning adulthood using her comedic chops. 

‘James May: Our Man in Japan’ — Venturing into the world of documentaries, the motoring TV presenter James May will document his Japanese travelogues through Amazon’s ‘James May: Our Man in Japan’. The docu-series will present unreported sides of Japan, pumping out the typical tourist stereotypes. It is premiering on January 3. 

‘Jayde Adams: Serious Black Jumper’ — Multi-award-winning comic Jayde Adams’ debut stand-up comedy special will premiere on Amazon on January 3. ‘Serious Black Jumper’ will see Adams explore the idea of feminism in today’s world, taking a completely new direction from her usual work.

‘Just Add Magic: Mystery City’ — Based on the book of the same name, ‘Just Add Magic: Mystery City’ is an American live-action family television series premiering on Amazon on January 17. The series was renewed for a second season following the success of the original series.

‘Rob Delaney: Jackie’ — Amazon Prime Video will be premiering a brand new comedy special by the multi-award-winning talent Rob Delaney on its streaming platform on January 17. The comedian will highlight the joys and horrors of life in the UK’s capital. Delaney is known for serving as the co-creator and co-writer for ‘Catastrophe’.  

‘Russell Peters: Deported’ — ‘Russell Peters: Deported’ recorded live from Mumbai’s NSCI Stadium, will premiere on Amazon Prime Video on January 17 in the form of a comedy special. Besides featuring the comedian’s signature improv, the comedy special will also see him hilariously explore life as a middle-aged man.  

‘All or Nothing : CBF’ — Narrating the behind the scenes stories of an international football federation in a major international tournament, ‘All or Nothing: CBF’ is Amazon’s reality series set to premiere on January 31. It showcases in-depth the victory of the Brazilian National Football team in Copa America 2019. 
 
‘Ted Bundy: Falling for a killer’ — The documentary series narrates American serial killer Ted Bundy’s crimes from a female perspective. It features his long-time girlfriend Elizabeth Kendall, her daughter Molly and other survivors of Bundy’s infamous crimes. ‘Ted Bundy: Falling for a killer’ will premiere on January 31.
