LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: When the live-action adaptation of the popular video game 'The Last of Us' from HBO took over the world like the cordyceps infection but in a good way, everyone, even the non-gamers, fell in love with the show, particularly the lead -- Pedro Pascal. Pascal's portrayal of Joel Miller and the growth of bond with Bella Ramsey's Ellie left the viewers with tears. But before Pedro Pascal became a global phenomenon, he had already shown his versatility in his movie roles as well.

Pascal is currently starring in the ongoing third season of Disney+ 'The Mandalorian', where he takes up the titular role. While the impactful portrayal of Pascal as Joel is gaining applause, Pascal's filmography includes shows like 'The Game of Thrones' and movies like 'Wonder Woman 1984'. So let us take a look at some of the iconic movies that Pascal did before 'The Last of Us'.

1) 'The Adjustment Bureau'

'The Adjustment Bureau' is a 2011 science fiction movie that tells the story of David (Matt Damon), a United States Congressman, who finds out that everything happening in his life is not by his free will, rather it is perfectly curated by a powerful group led by "the Chairman". Things open wide up when David falls in love with Elise (Emily Blunt), a ballet dancer. But David and Elise were not supposed to be together, according to "the plan" by the chairman as it would curb both of their career growth. How the star-crossed lovers find their way out of this entangled mess forms the crux of the story. So you might be wondering what role Pascal played in this sci-fi, romantic movie. Pascal appears in a blink-and-miss 10-second cameo. Eagle-eyed fans might have noticed Pascal appearing in a scene at a hotel as Maitre D' Paul De Santo where he shows the table to David and Elise.

2) 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle'

A sequel to the 2014 'Kingsman: The Secret Service', 'Kingsman: The Golden Circle' (2017) took the story to the United States. After learning about the British secret agency Kingsman in the first part, the US counterpart Statesman is introduced in this movie. Eggsy (Taron Egerton) finds Harry (Colin Firth) alive in the US and is teamed up with Agent Whiskey (Pedro Pascal) to stop Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore) from carrying out her poison drug plan. Whiskey is seen with his cowboy apparel and glowing whip. While Eggsy and Harry want to deploy the antidote to the poisonous drug, Whiskey wants to prevent the drones, stating that his pregnant wife died because of meth addicts and wants all the drug users to die. This leads to a fight and one of the most gruesome on-screen deaths of Pascal after 'Game of Thrones'. Whiskey is undoubtedly Pascal's most popular and memorable role.

3) 'Prospect'

'Prospect' is probably one of the lesser-known movies of Pascal. Released in 2018, 'Prospect' is a science fiction that takes place on a forest moon and follows the story of Cee (Sophie Thatcher) and her father Damon (Jay Duplass). When Damon gets obsessed with gems inside poisonous spores, the duo stumbles upon Ezra (Pedro Pascal) and his partner (Luke Pitzrick). Chaos ensues for the gems and everyone is killed except for Cee and Ezra. The two try to get out of the poisonous atmosphere but Ezra gets infected. How the unlikely duo finds a way out by working together forms the rest of the story.

4) 'Triple Frontier'

This 2019 action movie has a stellar ensemble cast including, Ben Affleck as Redfly, Oscar Isaac as Pope, Charlie Hunnam as Ironhead, Garrett Hedlund as Ben, and Pedro Pascal as Catfish. When the private military advisor Pope stumbles upon a tip from a young Yovanna (Adria Arjona) regarding the drug lord Gabriel Martin Lorea, he wants to take up the opportunity immediately. And Yovanna, in exchange, wants her and her brother out of the country. Pope forms a group with Redfy, Ironhead, Ben, and Catfish to steal the money from Gabriel. The plan starts to go downhill when Redfy gets over-fixating on the money, causing the group to be caught by the drug lord. The group tries to escape with what they had left, but Redfy's want of money over life policy puts the group in constant danger. How the group manages to get to the safe place and helps Yovanna forms the crux of the story.

5) 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent'

Remember the infamous meme of Pedro Pascal smiling at Nick Cage during a car ride? Yes, that one. It is from the 2022 action comedy 'The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent'. In a movie where Nicolas Cage is playing Nicolas Cage and stealing the screen, Pedro Pascal's Javi Gutierrez gives tough competition to him. Cage is currently in a slump, currently having no movies and a rough relationship with his family. Javi is a billionaire who is obsessed with Nick Cage. When Cage gets the opportunity to be a guest of honor on Javi's birthday for $1 million, the life of Cage and Javi changes drastically and chaos ensues. In the 1 hour and 47 minutes film, we get to see both Cage and Javi bond, fight and take their life in a better direction. The action and comedy of this movie are one of the major highlights and it combines to give a perfectly entertaining movie.
