After dragging One Direction, Liam Payne 'pisses off' ARMY with 'non' BTS comment

In a podcast with Logan Paul, Liam Payne opened up about hating Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik and getting in a physical altercation with a 'One Direction' member

Liam Payne is in hot water with his former group’s fandom and also with currently one of the biggest fandoms – ARMY. With BTS being getting hated and mocked since the year they debuted, their fans have been extremely protective of them, coming to their defense against anyone who tries to look down upon the global K-pop group. And with Liam Payne airing the dirty laundry of One Direction and comparing them with 5 Seconds Of Summer and BTS on Logan Paul’s podcast, Stan Twitter is not having it.

We first had Liam Payne talking about the early days of One Direction and how he and Louis Tomlinson hated each other initially. He also ended up revealing that one of the members had gotten physical with him and shared his dislike for Zayn Malik. Non-fans were also irked with Liam’s underlying racist comment by bringing in Zayn’s “different upbringing” with the latter being one of the few mainstream POC artists in the West. And while talking about One Direction’s success, he ended up indirectly dragging BTS and 5SOS which did not go very well with ARMY.

Liam Payne talks about K-pop

At one point, Logan Paul commented that Liam Payne had been “part of One Direction, probably the biggest boy band of all time and has yet to be replicated…besides the K-pop thing.” In response, Liam Payne said, “I think some of the K-pop bands have kind of reignited the thing. I mean obviously, we have 5 Second Of Summer as well, that did pretty well.” While he did not directly drag BTS, the way he worded, it rubbed fans the wrong way.

ARMY were not happy with Liam and Logan’s comment as they pointed out that BTS was bigger than One Direction at the moment and not just K-pop. Having made all kinds of history on platforms like Billboard, global award shows, and being invited to the UN and the White House, BTS has proved that they are also on par with other international boy bands.

‘Stop lying’

ARMY did not hold back as they made tweets like, “Using the word global and minimising bts' global impact into a category in the same sentence as if just cause its not English and they're not white they can't be global in actual sense. Xenophobic f**ing cis white males. Logan you're a joke and Liam you're f**ing jobless my guy.”

Another posted, “Bts outsold one direction in every aspect. Liam needs to stop lying to himself.” One ARMY pointed out, “Logan paul dropping a podcast with liam payne trying to compare one direction to bts in the intro while they were at the white house is indeed very funny to me.”

Another shared, “There's celebs like bts who go trending for their achievements and impact and then there's liam payne who only trend when they say or do some d*mb s**t.”

One ARMY wrote, “The snub about 5sos aside (goddamn he's so salty, 5sos is doing just fine). say the name Liam. don't be afraid. what some kpop band. just say BTS. they have the longest running #1 on bb hot 100 in 2021. a grand total of 10 weeks for butter. 1d never got that #1, i know ur bitter.”

One fan added, “Separating BTS impact and calling it a kpop thing is so weird… like don’t piss me off Liam.” Another commented, “THE WAY LIAM IS ACTING LIKE HES THE S**T TALKING N STUFF N SAYING THINGS IN SUCH A MONOTONE VOICE????? stop. it pisses me off sm.” One joked, “Bts could do that what makes you beautiful but 1d could never do black swan.”
