Who isn't familiar with Krys Marshall from the popular Apple TV+ show, 'For All Mankind', where she plays Danielle Poole, a character shown as being the first African-American astronaut of NASA and the first woman to command a US space mission.

This isn't the first time the actress has a forayed into space as part of a role as Krys has been a part of 'Supergirl' where she played a Kryptonian. It is an incredible phenomenon to watch the show break racial boundaries and gender inequalities in portraying something so strong and vivid.

MEA WorldWide (MEAWW) sat down with the actress for a little chat about her experience working on 'For All Mankind'. On being asked to draw parallels between 'For All Mankind' and 'Supergirl', she said, "A ton of wirework was involved and some of the other girls were like, 'This is uncomfortable' and I was like 'This is old hat!' I spent a whole TV show just hanging in the sky - in green screen."

Although the characters — Clayton (Edwin Hodge) and Danielle (Marshall) -- have been seen together only a few times, the on-screen chemistry between the two characters is phenomenal. Their bond is apparent from from the fact that though Daniella is a very strong independent woman a lot of her decisions are a result of the influence of her husband Clayton.

Krys said, "I personally felt like I stopped asking to play Danielle and just started to play her was when I met the actor who plays my husband, Edwin. When I met him at the table read, there was something that was so electric [...] I thought it was so magnanimous and energetic and it was something that even though you know Danielle's love life is a part of her story, a bigger part of her story is who she is as an engineer."

According to Krys, being an engineer was so foreign to her that she felt like she was a little bit in training wheels trying to figure out how that worked.

But she definitely knows a lot about love, and she (Danielle) adds, "Meeting Clayton and just feeling like this is my home, you know this is where now I see who she is and truly how she navigates the world in so many ways, but not just as an astronaut, but as a wife and as a lover, partner and I think that day, was when the gong went off in my mind and I was like, Oh there's no turning back."

'For All Mankind' airs Fridays on AppleTV+.
