Is leader Taeyong the man behind NCT Lab solo project? Fans commend his leadership

NCT has 23 members and hence it is difficult for each member to shine and show their individual talent and color

Fans were overjoyed when it was revealed that NCT’s Mark Lee would be finally having his solo debut. He is set to drop his first official single ‘Child’ under NCT Lab. SM Entertainment shared that NCT Lab was their new project. Since the K-pop group has 23 members, it is often difficult for them to showcase their own color and talent in the official group comebacks. NCT Lab allows the members to release solo songs, collaborate with other members, and have sub-unit projects. Well, the man behind the idea is apparently leader Taeyong.

Except for a couple of members like Ten, Taeyong, Kun, Xiaojun, and Yangyang, the rest of NCT have not had solo or sub-unit singles. With Sungchan and Shotaro, the newest additions not even having a fixed sub-unit to have a comeback with, fans hope to see more of them with NCT Lab. It looks like this was the reason why NCT’s leader Taeyong must have pitched the idea of a project for solo endeavors to SM Entertainment.

Taeyong shares his aspirations for 2022

In ‘NCT 127 Official Book Vol. 5’ which was released as merch for those who are part of NCT’s Japanese fan club, members talked about their aims and aspirations for the new year. Taeyong first shared that his goal was to make 50 songs in 2021 and since he couldn’t, he will achieve it in 2022. He also wants to read more novels and get better at English and Japanese so he can communicate with international fans better. He also shared that he had a challenge for the members.

Taeyong said, “I would like a new challenge where the members would do the demo, concept, naming, and dancing, all decided by themselves. It must be difficult, but the members can grow during such an active period.” Well, with this being exactly the goal of NCT Lab, fans think that it was the NCT leader who came up with the idea for the NCT Lab project. Taeyong has often pushed the members of his group to shine and show their own color.

One proud fan tweeted, “NCT Lab is an after effect of Taeyong's successful soundcloud project and anyone who says otherwise is willfully obtuse.” Another NCTzen brought back the time, “#TAEYONG once said "I want each and every member to be acknowledged for their abilities, to the point where everyone can have their own solo." It's possible that NCT lab project is his idea. Idea bank & best, responsible, selfless leader. Hope he gets everything he deserves too.” One fan posted, “TAEYONG THE VISIONARY. Everybody say thank you Taeyong.” Another added, “So nct lab was his idea?? damn theres really not a day that taeyong dont blow my mind.”
