LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: 'Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes' just released in theaters on Friday, May 10 and the fans are having a blast. The much-anticipated sequel to the 'Planet of the Apes' trilogy has proven to be a worthy successor and the fans agree.

This fresh sci-fi action movie from 20th Century Studios signals a new era in the revamped series, following the widely praised 'War for the Planet of the Apes'.

Directed by Wes Ball (Maze Runner trilogy) and written by Josh Friedman (War of the Worlds), the film features a top-notch cast including Owen Teague, Freya Allan, Kevin Durand, Peter Macon, and William H. Macy.

Set three centuries after Caesar's revolution, ape societies have flourished while humans have devolved into feral beings. Proximus Caesar, a tyrannical ape king, harnesses weaponry from forgotten human technology and distorts Caesar's legacy to subjugate other ape clans.

Their journey will not only decide the fate of their captured clan but also determine the future for both apes and the remnants of humanity.

Many fans and new viewers took to X to share their thoughts about the movie, with one saying, "I saw Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes last night and omg this movie was fantastic. Just like the other Planet of the Apes, it has a lot of heart and action, the expressions and emotions of the apes are amazing. This movie was fantastic."

An excited fan wrote, "I pretty much loved KINGDOM OF THE PLANET OF THE APES, an action-spectacle that's shockingly mostly about how history and myth can empower or destroy, while probing what we'll do to survive. There are flaws, but it's low-key my favorite PLANET OF THE APES in decades."

Praising the longevity of the franchise, a fan commented, "Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes keeps the winning streak going. I have no idea why the powers that be continue to allow this one franchise be the complex, meaningful spectacle that it is, but I hope whatever wizard’s curse is in place doesn’t go away anytime soon."

Praising Kevin Durand's performance, one fan viewer said, "Kevin Durand’s performance in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is one of the best in the whole franchise btw. The ability to command such an insane screen presence that it shines through a CGI ape is unreal. I need this guy in more movies ASAP"

Fans also showed love to Freya Allan, with one of them writing, "My biggest takeaway from Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes is that Freya Allan needs to be cast in my more movies. She's amazing."
