Netflix's 'The Bequeathed' impresses viewers with its 'solid' plot

Although, the "small town, big secrets" cliche is nothing new, 'The Bequethed' is generating mostly positive reviews for its depiction of eerie surroundings, effectively backed with a gripping narrative.

Quoting the same, an X user wrote, "For those of u netflix original series enthusiasts & who love thriller mystery genre, i highly recommend u to watch ‘The Bequeathed’. i like how they shoot their surroundings & build up mood. i was amazed by how dark & twisted it was. this series consistently gloomy since ep 1."

Lauding the gripping narrative and magnificent cinematography, a social media user commented, "The Bequeathed is one of the thrillers that got me on hooked, from the beginning until the end, I can say. I give 4/5 for the solid plot, outstanding cinematography and excellent acting of the actors!" Ryu Kyung-soo's portrayal of frightening Kim Yeong-ho has also garnered positive feedback from the viewers. An impressed viewer wrote on X, "The actor of shocked with kyungsoo his character, he really made it incredibly bleak scary #TheBequeathed."

Another user recommended the series for its plot twist and wrote, "if you want to watch a short eerie murder mystery thriller kdrama give #TheBequeathed a try (6 eps on netflix). they did the "small town, big secrets" trope pretty well bc there's no way i would have seen that plot twist coming."

What is the plot of 'The Bequethed'?

The story unfolds as protagonist Yun Seo-ha inherits the family burial ground from a distant relative who himself died there. Seo-ha, along with her husband, is confronted by Kim Young-ho, who claims to be his half-brother.

As the story moves further, unfortunate events begin to unravel, and concealed secrets come to light. 

With new revelations, Seo-ha, along with detective Park Sang-min, struggles to uncover the hidden secrets buried deep in the gravesite.
