This article contains spoilers for Season 2 of 'Kidding'

In Episode 2 we saw Jeff Pickles (Jim Carrey) help Peter (Justin Kirk), his estranged wife, Jill's (Judy Greer) new beau with a liver transplant - half of his liver only of course. Thing is, he was the one that ran over Peter with his car and blew up his liver, and he'd confessed that to his sister Deirdre (Catherine Keener), and Jill, so he owes Peter one. Not to mention, when he comes to from the anesthesia and a hearty dream musical, he fires his father off the Pickle empire.

Episode 3 titled, 'I'm Listening' sees Seb (Frank Langella) hand over the empire to Deirdre while Jeff gets a bright idea on how he can speak directly to the children watching his show. Will Pickles (Cole Allen), Jeff's son, meanwhile finds a book of magic spells and finds himself facing the past.

Jeff, a children's show host has had his show off the air for a while now and while recovering from his liver transplant, he gets fan mail from the innocent children that watch him. Realizing he needs to be there for them, he decides that he wants a wifi connected doll of Mr. Pickles that would be able to talk to the children. With the motivation that his friends (the children) need him and much-needed encouragement from his hospital roommate, he decides to bring the idea to his father. Being the adult that he is and much more level headed, Seb sees the complications in this - for example, what if a kid is on the verge of suicide or how would a doll talk to them be appropriate? Convincing his father to retire, and encouraging his sister that she can handle the Pickle empire, they go forward with the idea. There is not one good idea that has no haters, is the premise they worked with.

Deirdre has trouble stirring up in her household as well when Dierdre's husband Scott Perera (Bernard White) asks for full custody of their daughter, Maddy (Juliet Morris) in return for keeping his mouth shut about the fact that his wife has been committing tax fraud. She had set up the "Indica School For Girls' but that does not exist and she has been pocketing the money. Refusing to give up custody of Maddy, Deirdre seems to be spiraling downward and may not be a good fit to run the Pickle cooperation. Either way, it looks like the siblings-- Deirdre and Jeff--have got each other, through their hectic personal life.

Meanwhile, Will finds a book on mysticism and gets curious about time traveling. The show has him 4 months into the future kissing a girl in his car. Most interestingly, Will finds an envelope with his late brother Phil's name on it - the envelope contained a "thank you donor letter." We are yet to find out where Will's time-traveling has led him.

'Kidding' Season 2 airs on Sundays at 10 pm EST on Showtime.
