'Exploitation at its best': Khloe Kardashian slammed for posing with ex's wheelchair-bound brother Amari Thompson
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: On December 27, Khloe Kardashian took to Instagram to share a lovely slideshow of her Yule celebrations.
'The Kardashians' star, however, was quickly slammed by netizens for allegedly "exploiting" Tristan Thompson's 17-year-old sibling Amari Thompson.
This comes after Khloe was spotted "posing" next to Amari.
Khloe gathered her children and posed in front of the Christmas tree before making her way to her sister Kim Kardashian's festive Christmas Eve celebration. Notably, Khloe extended an invitation to Tristan's 17-year-old brother Amari, highlighting her enduring connections with his family.
Khloe, Amari, True, and Tatum posed for a photo at Kim's nicely set dinner table in one particularly touching moment.
Khloe struck a beautiful appearance in a sparkling nude dress that fell off the shoulder and dipped to hint at her endowments as she stood with Amari. This certainly grabbed the attention of some followers, who dubbed it "exploiting at its best."
Under the Instagram post, the user continued, "Now why is this young man whom cannot give consent, being blasted on social media. ( perhaps it’s all in good fun for the holiday, however we know for the sake of ratings, nothing or no one is off limits, I surly don’t look for Tristan to stand up, he’s to busy selling his soul to prove, he’s ( working on himself) 😂."

Another user chimed in, "Lol 🤣🤣🤣 I love how you this, again here goes the comments of her being good. I don't buy this because this boy wasn't blasted on social media when his mama was alive. But I believe if she did have dream on this picture she won't have post him, because she is only being talked about (clout wise) if it has to do with dream or Tristan, if you remove this two, dream and Tristan. She won't be talked about, so I guess you can't blame her 😂😂😂😂."
One user further wrote, "She throws him in for sympathy."
What happened to Amari Thompson?
Tristan's sibling suffers from epilepsy, a neurological ailment that causes recurrent, spontaneous seizures. Amari, who is wheelchair-bound, is unable to live alone and requires 24-hour care.
Fortunately, Tristan has always been there for his brother. In 2014, the sportsman established The Amari Thompson Foundation to commemorate his sister and others suffering from the disease.
Tristan and Andrea created a YouTube video after establishing the foundation to explain their motivation for doing so. Amari also made an appearance in the 2014 video.
During the October 5 episode of 'The Kardashians', Khloe revealed what was going on with Amari's health to Kris Jenner and Kim.
"I mean, it’s bad and good, just like that we didn’t have any answers really. Like, his MRIS and EEGs and EKGs are all the same," Khloe explained.
She went on to say, "He has the worst type of seizures you can have."
Amari is at a "scary place" right now, according to the mother of two, "because once he hits age 20 is when it will be really bad if we can’t have any improvements."
Khloe and Tristan had opted to have a physical therapist come to the house to work with Amari at the moment.
Does Amari Thompson live with Khloe Kardashian?
Amari is surrounded by love from everyone, even his brother's ex. In July 2023, Khloe hosted Amari's 17th birthday celebration at her home.
But Khloe did more than simply throw a party for Amari. After Andrea died, Khloé took in Tristan and Amari and let them remain at her house until Tristan's roof broke down due to poor weather in early 2023.
She announced this at 'The Kardashians' season 3 finale. Khloe also stated that she will continue to support Tristan and his family despite his repeated infidelity scandals.
Is Tristan Thompson responsible for his brother Amari?
Over the years, Tristan has been a wonderful big brother and an even greater father figure to Amari. During an interview with NBC Sports in March 2022, Tristan discussed how Amari, who has epilepsy, motivates him.
Tristan took to Instagram in July 2023 to celebrate Amari's birthday. In his post, he also mentioned their late mother.
Tristan submitted court paperwork in September 2023 to become his younger brother's guardian after his mother died. The documents indicated that Amari's father, Trevor, has been "absent" throughout his existence.
According to PEOPLE, Tristan was given interim guardianship of Amari on September 20. According to reports, the court determined that there was "sufficient evidence" and "good cause" for Tristan to become Amari's guardian for the time being.
