Kevin Durant asks fans to watch Apple TV's 'Swagger', gets roasted: 'Win a ring first'

While 'Swagger' had its fair share of praise, there was one segment of fans that trolled Durant

It was a big Friday for sports fans across the country with Colin Kaepernick's 'Colin in Black & White' and the Kevin Durant executive-produced Apple TV+ series 'Swagger' releasing at the same time. The latter is a basketball sports drama that was inspired by the NBA superstar's early experiences. 

The series follows Jace Carson (Isiah Hill), a phenom in Washington DMV. He's part Giannis Antetokounmpo with that work-in-progress musculature, he's part James Harden with that aggressive offense, he's got shades of LeBron James in him with that fade away. In short, he's slated to be the next big thing in the NBA. 'Swagger faces stiff competition from Ava DuVernay's 'Colin in Black & White', the Netflix limited series focusing on the high school years of activist and former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

While 'Swagger' had its fair share of praises, there was one segment of fans that trolled Durant when he asked the audiences to tune in to Apple TV to watch the series. Fans took to Twitter to Durant's tweet that read, "#Swagger is finally here...Stream the first 3 episodes now on @appletv"

The replies were an absolute shocker. "How about you win a real ring first" read one of the tweets. "Tell Harden to be more aggressive today," the trolls continued. "SWAGGER IS YOU WINNING ANOTHER RING BRUH!" one of the comments read. "Nobody in New York cares about the nets," one of the fans wrote. "You're not making the finals," a fan teased.

The first three episodes will be available to stream on  Friday, October 29. Subsequent episodes release Fridays through December 17.
