Kendall Roy looks primed to have his Michael Corleone moment in 'Succession' finale as he eyes Waystar throne
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: The curtains have been lifted for one final show. ‘Succession’ is on the cusp of making history as one of HBO’s most successful productions and its star boy, Kendall Roy, looks on course to thrive after the accomplishment of a momentous task. The job is to secure the throne of Waystar Royco, which is in jeopardy after the demise of Logan Roy. Kendall has emerged as the likely contender among all the siblings but Shiv Roy, his sister, has inroads with Lukas Matsson, the Swede who is punching hard to buy Waystar and keep the scraps for himself.
Kendall believes that his legacy is under threat and since Roman is in no state to handle the affairs of the company after his meltdown at Logan’s funeral, Kendall is left with no choice but to act alone on behalf of his father’s name. He’s been making moves right after Logan died to secure the company in the favor of the family but has faced betrayal at the hands of Shiv and incompetence from Roman who messed up by helping Jeryd Mencken win the election. For now, he has truly stepped up and claimed his right to the throne. Just as Michael Corleone did after his father died in the gangster epic, ‘The Godfather'. Michael avenged the attack on his father and his brother’s death but Kendall isn’t avenging much but trying to save the ‘Roy’ name from getting besmirched.
