NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: On the August 10 episode of 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen', ‘Real Housewives of Beverly Hills’ star Kathy Hilton got herself into trouble when she confused Lizzo for ‘Precious’, a role played by Gabourey Sidibe in 2009. During the 'Will Kathy Know Them?' game, Hilton was asked to identify different celebrities. When a photo of Lizzo came up, she said, "I feel like I do [know her]. Precious?"

As host Andy Cohen and another RHOBH star Crystal Kung Minkoff revealed to Hilton that the woman in the picture is Lizzo, almost everyone in the room started to chuckle. Queens of Bravo, a Bravo TV fan account, posted a video of the now-viral moment on Twitter, writing, "This literally just happened." The video quickly received more than 500K views and since then, viewers pointed out on Twitter that the error wasn't even funny. Several social media users are now calling out Hilton for the blunder, dubbing her "racist" and "fatphobic".

One person wrote, “Kathy Hilton damn well know Lizzo ain't Precious, a FICTIONAL character. That's mad disrespectful, racist, and fatphobic.”

“If Kathy Hilton thought Lizzo was Precious (a fictional character from a movie which was adapted from a book by the same name) then she's either:1. A liar. 2. A lying idiot 3. Racist. 4. A lying, racist, idiot,” another added.

One user wrote, “The Hilton family has always been racist y'all just seem to ignore and tolerate the racism. Kathy Hilton calling Lizzo "Precious" is not only ignorant and disrespectful but it is indeed racist as f**k.”

“When Precious came out, a lot of people used the character’s name as a derogatory label to fuel their fatphobia and to bully. So no, I don’t think that it’s funny that Lizzo, home minding her own business, had to watch herself be called Precious in front of millions on live tv,” yet another person remarked.

One user called out Hilton’s remark saying, “There’s nothing funny about Kathy Hilton calling Lizzo ‘Precious.’ Absolutely nothing.”

“I really hate that Lizzo and Gabourey are gonna have to deal with memes at their expense bc some lady threw out a textbook microaggression on tv,” another user added.

Oscar-nominated film ‘Precious’ was about a young Black teenager on a "journey from oppression to self-determination." Later, during the segment,  Minkoff made an effort to minimize the error made by her co-star. She said, "She is precious, though. Lizzo is precious. That's what I call her! Her nickname is Precious, to me."
