Kathy Hilton joins 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills': All you need to know about her net worth and career
Two full-time cast members Teddi Mellencamp Arroyave and Denise Richards dropped out before Season 11 of 'Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' and many speculations have been made about who should be cast for the legendary television show since.
Fans deemed Kris Jenner and Kathy Hilton as suitable replacements and even though Kris Jenner rejected the offer, speculation that Kathy might join the show emerged when she snapped a photo with TV host and executive producer Andy Cohen at a restaurant last year. On 'Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen' at the time, Cohen clarified the situation denying reports that he took her out to dinner to woo her for the show.
A source confirmed to People Magazine that the mother of Paris Hilton and Nicky Hilton Rothschild will star in the Bravo franchise's upcoming Season 11 alongside her sister Kyle Richards. Their other sister, Kim Richards, previously appeared on RHOBH for five seasons.
The 51-year-old Kyle addressed the possibility of 61-year-old Kathy joining the cast back in 2019 during an appearance on 'WWHL' following Lisa Vanderpump's exit.
“I mean, I would be happy… I’ve had one sister on, why not have another sister on?” Kyle said. “My sister Kathy is actually — people don’t know this, but she’s one the funniest people there is. She’s a practical joker and she’s very, very funny. So I think she would be an amazing Housewife, actually.”
Bravo TV’s official instagram handle posted a picture of Kathy captioning, “As if yesterday’s casting announcement wasn’t enough, Bravo officially confirmed today that Kathy Hilton will be joining 'The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills' for Season 11 in a Friend of the Housewives role. Who’s excited to see Kyle’s other sister join the show?”
Actress, fashion designer and philanthropist Kathy Hilton has a net worth of $350 million together with husband Rick Hilton, since 1979. Born into a family of Irish and Scottish ancestry, Kathleen Elizabeth Avanzino’s career began as a child actress when she was nine years old. She started appearing in television shows like 'Bewitched', 'The Rockford Files', 'Nanny and the Professor', 'Happy Days', 'Family Affair' and movies like 'The Dark' and 'On the Air Live with Captain Midnight'.
At 15, she met Richard Hilton, around the same time that she "retired" from acting. The two married five years later in 1979. In the '80s and early 1990s, Kathy owned her own novelty gift and antique store called The Staircase on Sunset Plaza in Los Angeles.
Since marrying into the Hilton family, Kathy has dabbled in a return to her show business roots. In 2005, she hosted the reality television program 'I Want to Be a Hilton' on NBC and two years later, she began selling skincare products on rival home-shopping network HSN.
In 2011, she appeared on 'The World According to Paris'. Kathy's half-sisters, Kim and Kyle Richards, are both cast members on the hit Bravo reality series. In 2012, Kathy admitted she struggled to see her family drama play out on the hit Bravo TV’s reality show and the fall-out between the Richards sisters only made her wish her mother Sharon was still alive to keep the girls in line.
Since 2012, she has designed the Kathy Hilton Collection of party dresses, sold in four hundred stores worldwide, including Neiman Marcus, Saks Fifth Avenue and Nordstrom. The new season of RHOBH is eagerly anticipated by fans. Will there be a million dollar drama?
