'I like being fat': Lizzo shuts down body shamers, says she LOVES her 'really hot body'
Lizzo is done defending her body against hateful comments. Now it is time to 'move on' The "Boys" rapper expressed all her anger and frustration in her recent interview with PEOPLE saying “we all know I’m fat.”
Lizzo shut down body shamers as she said, "It doesn’t bother me. I like being fat, and I’m beautiful and I’m healthy." The "Truth Hurts" rapper also added, "So can we move on?” Speaking of her journey to success, she said, "There was no Lizzo before Lizzo"

The only thing Lizzo currently wants is for bigger women to be "freed" from stereotypes. In her opinion, stereotypes like bigger women being “the funny, fat friend” or “the friend who is gonna beat your ass ’cause she’s big" must be discarded. Speaking of where she is currently, in terms of her figure, Lizzo said, "I think I have a really hot body! I’m a body icon, and I’m embracing that more and more every day. It may not be one person’s ideal body type just like, say, Kim Kardashian might not be someone’s ideal, but she’s a body icon and has created a modern-day beauty standard. And what I’m doing is stepping into my confidence and my power to create my own beauty standard."
Feeling "good as hell" Lizzo also said, "And one day that will just be the standard." Fortunately for her, size has never been nor will ever be a concern. And she proved this with the sexy dance video Lizzo shared in December 2021 which showed off her weight gain.
Lizzo has an answer for those ridiculing and trying to run her off stage, "I deserve the spotlight. I deserve the attention. I'm talented, I'm young, I'm hot. You know? And I've worked hard." Talking about the fact that she is a Black woman, Lizzo said, "I grew up in a family that was very proud of our Blackness." She recalled, "I don't think my dad wanted to tell us about the gruesome murders that happen to Black people all the time. But Black parents have this responsibility to let their children know what can happen. They taught me at a very young age how America treats Black people. How it treats Black women. And I saw very quickly how we treat fat people."
Last year during a live session on Instagram, Lizzo burst into tears as she said, "Sometimes I feel like the world just don’t love me back. It’s like, it doesn’t matter how much positive energy you put into the world. You’re still going to have people who have something mean to say about you." Lizzo has time and again fought back at her critics and body shamers and continues to do so in the most fabulous way, showing the world, she's comfortable in her own skin.
