Written and directed by Wagner de Assis, 'Kardec' is a Brazilian drama film set for an August 29 release on Netflix. The official synopsis of the movie reads: "A man of reason. A spinning table at a séance. A transformation and a call to change the world."

Produced by Eliana Soárez, the story of the film revolves around Allan Kardec and chronicles his journey as an educator and his contribution to the spiritist codification. It is a biography of the French educator, translator and author Hippolyte Léon Denizard Rivail, whose pen name was Allan Kardec. He is the author of the five books known as the Spiritist Codification and is the founder of Spiritism.

The Brazilian movie is all set for an official release on August 29 on Netflix.

Plot

The official plot summary of the film reads: "In Catholic 19th-Century France, professor Léon Rivail attends a séance and is moved to found spiritism, putting him in the authorities' sights."

Sandra stars in the film as Amélie. The Brazilian actress is known for his work in 'Linha de Passe' (2008), 'Gloria and Grace' (2017) and 'Vazante' (2017).
