‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’: Release, plot, cast, trailer and all you need to know about Sony’s multi-starrer fantasy film

Joe Johnston directorial ‘Jumanji’, redefined the concept of fantasy adventure films when it arrived in 1995. Comprising an ensemble cast featuring the legendary actor Robin Williams, the film revolving around a supernatural board game imprinted upon our minds. And then, there was no looking back for this supernova of a film! In 2017, we witnessed a sequel, ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ which turned the entertainment and fantasy factors up by several notches. The fourth installment ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’ is soon hitting the theatres and, here’s all you need to know!

Release

Jumanji franchises fourth installment ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’ is releasing on December 13 by Sony Pictures Releasing.

Plot 

Unlike the original, where different creatures from the jungle were transported into the real life of the players through a board game, ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle’ saw the characters disappear into a video game system. Landing in the jungle in their game avatar, the players encounter life-threatening scenarios involving the unknown dangers of the jungle and its inhabitants.

‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’ will see the teenage protagonists re-enter the dreadful video game to save one of their friends who has been sucked into it accidentally.

Dwayne Johnson

Dwayne Johnson will reprise his role as Smolder Bravestone in ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’. Popularly known by his ring name ‘The Rock’, Johnson’s profile boasts several successful films. Some of the most renowned films that he has featured in include ‘The Scorpion King’, ‘The Fast and the Furious Franchise’ and ‘Fast Five’.
 
Jack Black

Jack Black, who was a part of the prequel, will also be seen in ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’ playing his role as Shelly Oberon. The actor rose to popularity by featuring in films such as, ‘School of Rock’, ‘The Holiday’, ‘Kung Fu Panda’ and ‘Tropic Thunder’. Aside from acting, Jack Black has also gained fair recognition as a musician.
 
Kevin Hart

Kevin Hart is reprising his role as Moue Finbar in ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’. He kick-started his career as a stand-up comedian and turned actor-producer as he progressed in the industry.  Hart has appeared in several movies, with ‘The Secret Life of Pets’, ‘The Upside’, ‘Kevin Hart: What Now?’ being some of his latest work.
 
Nick Jonas

American pop artist Nick Jonas is al returning in ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’. He will be playing the role of Seaplane McDonough. Jonas has appeared on numerous reality television shows, television series and films. He was last seen in the episode ‘Jonas Brothers’ on ‘Songland’ and will be serving as one of the judges on the eighteenth season of ‘The Voice’. 

Creators/ Showrunners 

Jake Kasda who helmed ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ is directing ‘Jumanji 3: The Next Level’ as well. Having been in the industry for over a decade, Kasda has made films including ‘Sex Tape’, ‘New Girl’ and ‘Freaks and Geeks’. Jeff Pinker and Scott Rosenberg have served as the co-writers.
