'90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?' Season 7: Kim and Usman slammed for 'unrealistic expectations for American marriage'
SOKOTO, NIGERIA: In '90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?, Usman "Sojaboy" Umar, after the immigration concern, surprised Kim Menzies again with his proposal and willingness to adopt. Even though some fans are relieved to see that Usman finally acknowledged the fact that Kim deserves better, many took this opportunity to slam the couple for not knowing about basic laws before moving forward.
Usman and Kim have begun to evaluate their alternatives after realizing that he is not legally permitted to have a second wife in the United States. On Sunday's episode of '90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After?,' an immigration attorney advised the engaged pair that polygamy is prohibited in America - even if his other wife is in another nation. The difficulty was the contract Kim signed with Usman's mother, which said she would enable him to marry a younger woman. Fortunately for Kim, Usman appeared to have a solution. A preview for next week's episode featured Usman informing Kim about his big idea: adoption.

"I feel like maybe I'm going to adopt," he informed Kim over Zoom. Kim has long rejected parenting Usman's children, however, she supports his wish to have children with another woman. So the first thing that sprang to her was: "Who the f—- raises the child? Me? " "I'm asking — do you want to raise him?" Usman responded.
Though having children was not part of their initial plan, it may be a suitable alternative to Usman adopting a child. Despite the upheaval caused by the immigration meeting, Usman and Kim enjoyed a rather romantic final day in Nigeria before Kim returned to America. Usman, who had accepted Kim's proposal a few days ago, decided to make his own romantic move and propose to Kim. The emotional moment was filled with "I love yous" and embraces as Usman dropped down on one knee in his living room to propose.
"My mom say [sic] yes, so if truly, I love you, what else would I wait?" he said. "Will you marry me, babe?" Kim said "yes" easily and emotionally.
Usman explained why he felt it was vital to ask Kim about the issue in a confessional. "Kimberly propose to me, I appreciate it, I understand how much she love me," he added. "But that is not the ideal way."
Kim shared her opinion on the subject. "It's beautiful," she added, displaying her new ring. "This just drives it home for me that this man loves me just as much as I love him."
Usman and Kim still needed to finish the K-1 Visa application procedure. Bringing Usman to America may be difficult since it would directly contradict his commitment to see his family in Nigeria on a quarterly basis.

Polygamy is against the law in the US…how do u make all these future plans & not know the simple facts, laws." Meanwhile, another fan theory read, "I’m betting a buck that Usman’s mother and family looked into US law, found that polygamy doesn’t work here and that’s why they gave the blessing knowing that the paper was worthless. Just sayin’!"
