Do clothes make you feel things? If you're shaking your head, Jane Rosemont's 'Shirts!' will definitely do the job. This year at the Dances with Films, award-winning photographer, and filmmaker Rosemont will be showcasing her short film based on the love for the garment. The filmmaker from Santa Fe, New Mexico is one amongst the talented line-up of independent filmmakers at the 21st Annual Dances with Films Festival.

Inspired by the director and writer's husband, Dick Rosemont, this film follows the protagonist as he seeks out the perfect shirt. For decades, her husband had sought out unusual material for custom-made shirts. Jane thought it was a great basis for a short film to impart joy and comedy. But it's more than just a parade of clothing. Be prepared for some unusual "shirt tales", including an alien abduction, a miracle balloon animal and a crushing experience with beverage cans.

As she was dabbling with ideas as to how to make the film stand out, one fateful night, it occurred to Jane that Dick could "act out" his shirts. Eventually, she came up with scenarios for thirteen of the most interesting of the shirts he finds. Jane's idea was to showcase the shirts in a way different from a mere fashion show.

"'Shirts!' is a great way to celebrate the man I love and the shirts that have become his signature. If along the way it makes people laugh, and for four and a half minutes not think of bills, or politics, or deadlines, then I’m over the moon," said Jane.

This film is written, produced and filmed by Small Town Moon. It is shot entirely in Santa Fe, New Mexico in 2017. Jane Rosemont's past projects include films like 'Pie Lady of Pie Town' (2012) and 'Apotheosis' (2014). 'Pie Lady of Pie Town' was critically acclaimed too - it was Academy Award qualified. It made its debut at the Dances with Films Festival in 2014. For reasons unknown, the film never made the actual nomination list. 'Shirts!' premieres on June 11th, 2018 and the entire festival runs from June 7-June 17 at the TCL Chinese Theaters, located at Hollywood & Highland.
