Jane Marczewski, who is more popularly recognized by the epithet Nightbirde, has reportedly dropped out of the current season of 'America's Got Talent'. The Ohio native had enthralled the judges and the audience with her stellar performance, during her famous golden buzzer moment in June. The 30-year-old singer announced her decision to leave the competition on social media on August 2, 2021.

Marczewski has been battling metastatic cancer since 2017. During the audition, she stated that cancer has affected her lungs, spine, and liver and she has a "2% chance of survival". Despite her intense struggle with health, Nightbirde's positivity won the audience's hearts, as she said, "I 100% will live through it. God and I have dreams for my life, and I WILL live them out." Presently, the singer has cited her worsening health as the reason for dropping out of the 'America's Got Talent' competition, despite earning a place straight to the live finals

In her latest post on Facebook and Instagram, Nightbirde shared a black and white photo of herself on her bed. She accompanied the photo, credited to Keeli Faith, with an elaborate caption, that read, "✨ANNOUNCEMENT✨ Sharing my heart with the world on AGT has been an honor and a dream come true. My point of view this summer has been astounding. What a miracle that the pain I’ve walked through can be reworked into beauty that makes people all over the world open their eyes wider."

"Since my audition, my health has taken a turn for the worse and the fight with cancer is demanding all of my energy and attention. I am so sad to announce that I won’t be able to continue forward on this season of AGT. Life doesn’t always give breaks to those that deserve it—but we knew that already. Thank you for all your support, it means the world to me. Stay with me, I’ll be better soon. I’m planning my future, not my legacy. Pretty beat up, but I’ve still got dreams."

At the June auditions, Marczewski stunned everyone with her original song 'It's OK', which documented her journey through a painful divorce and life's hardships. Her rendition of the song brought the judges to tears, prompting Simon Cowell to give her the Golden Buzzer.

Her decision to leave the show shocked fans and even other celebrities, who poured in their love and support to her. 'America's Got Talent'  responded to her post saying, "We're keeping you in our thoughts for a full recovery!," while 'American Idol' contestant Melinda Doolittle wrote, "Love you. It’s been an honor to #seejanewin so many times, and it will be an honor to continue to #seejanewin. ❤️🙏🏾"

Singer Danny Gokey appeared visibly upset at the news as he commented, "😢😢😢😢 praying for you." Hannah Brown of 'The Bachelorette' fame wrote, "Sending you love and prayers! What an inspiration you are to us all! 💗"
