If there is a downside to watching reality competition shows, it is not knowing when your favorite performer might get cut. And, while past seasons of 'So You Think You Can Dance' did give fans the power to vote for their favorite dancer, it looks like the latest season leaves everything up to the judges and the studio audience.

With each couple having performed this week, it meant that one duo would see their dance journey come to an end on 'SYTYCD'. When it came down to it, Jordan, James, Virginia and Waverly found themselves in the bottom four. While James and Virginia put up an emotional performance and Jordan and Waverly were praised for their partnership, the judges and studio audience felt as though they were lacking just a bit in comparison to the rest. With judges finally deciding which two dancers would get the cut, Virginia and James were sent home.

Fans, however, were absolutely livid at the decision. "Love that we saved the two dancers who already have professional experience under their belt, rather than keeping the couple that actually connected with the audience #SYTYCD" tweeted a fan. "The audience should not be the sole voters and people should not be judged in their pairs cause this nonsense happens! James should not be gone! #SYTYCD" added a fan. "James deserved a second chance tbh. I thought this show was about growth. I know Twitch was fighting for James to stay #SYTYCD" said another.

"The child opened up about being abused by a teacher, relived that trauma to bring an INCREDIBLE performance to this stage…and got sent home for it. Y’all I— #SYTYCD" argued another. "Okay they don't even have the bottom 4 doing solos to stay. This isn't the same show at all, the magic is gone, we at the halfway point already and they just got to the live shows. The finale is going to have the final 4, we damn near done #sytycd" noted a fan. "Why does just the audience get to vote? I am so confused by this new format. Is it americas favorite dancer or a privileged studio audiences favorite dancer? #sytycd" noted another.
