A new concept image shows 'Euphoria' actor Jacob Elordi as Henry Cavill's Superman replacement. As speculation swirls about the fate of Superman on the big screen, particularly whether 'Man of Steel' actor Henry Cavill will ever wear the cape again, some have indicated that the new actor will jump into the role.

As Warner Bros. Discovery prepares to restructure DC Entertainment's content, the possibility of never seeing Henry Cavill wear the epic Superman suit again is very likely. It's just a question of time before another live-action Superman hits the big screen, but the biggest issue for fans is who will play the legendary superhero. Several Henry Cavill fans have been hoping for a 'Man of Steel' sequel, but there has been no hint that such a project is being considered at Warner Bros. Furthermore, Cavill has been keeping himself busy as the lead of 'The Witcher,' along with roles in the forthcoming films 'Argylle' and 'Enola Holmes 2.'

There have been rumors about restarting the 'Superman' film series with writer Ta-Nehisi Coates, while Michael B. Jordan is working on a new limited series for HBO Max based on the character's Val-Zod version. In any event, it's unclear what's next for 'Superman' and which actors are being considered for the next big-screen adaptation. Many fans have thrown their support behind 'The Kissing Booth' and 'Euphoria' actor Jacob Elordi, so much so that digital illustrators SPDRMNKYXXIII and BFHDesign have both made their fan art reflecting the fantasy casting.

Brandon Routh, Christopher Reeve, and George Reeves are among the prominent actors who have played Superman on the big screen, in addition to Henry Cavill. Tyler Hoechlin, one of the co-stars of the successful series 'Superman & Lois,' has been playing the Arrowverse's depiction of Superman on television. Dean Cain and Tom Welling have also played the superhero. Jacob Elordi, who plays the naturally hateable Nate Jacobs on 'Euphoria,' is clearly in demand for possible roles in large blockbuster series. Fans can envision the 24-year-old actor donning the traditional Superman costume in this concept design from Instagram user @BFHDesign, presumably as Henry Cavill's replacement in the DCEU.

If Jacob Elordi is cast as the new Superman, it would be a fascinating new character that would stand apart from Nate Jacobs in 'Euphoria.' Indeed, going from playing one of TV's most despised characters to embodying one of pop culture's most admired personas would be quite a sight to behold. However, while we speculate whether Jacob Elordi from 'Euphoria' or another movie star takes over as Superman, Henry Cavill was last seen as Clark Kent in Zack Snyder's 'Justice League.'

Hang tight for all the recent updates on Henry Cavill's Superman's destiny in the DCEU, as well as Jacob Elordi's prospective future in the comic book movie genre.
