'Itaewon Class' is off to a good start and we will now see Park Sae-ro-yi get ready to fight a powerful enemy
'Itaewon Class', the latest Netflix Original in Korean starring Park Seo-joon, Kim Da-mi , Kwon Na-ra, and Yoo Jae-myung is off to a great start. The show based on a popular webtoon in its first week saw Park Sae-ro-yi (Seo-joon) in school. He is not very sociable and stays away from everyone. He eats lunch alone and doesn't seem to have any friends. However, he is satisfied with his own company. Sae-ro-yi has to transfer to a different school because of his father's work and that's when things go wrong.
The one person that Park Sae-ro-yi does care about is his father. He is taught by his father to live by a set of belief that includes not letting his classmate be bullied. While trying to stop this from happening in his new school, Sae-ro-yi gets into trouble because he punches the boy who was bullying. The boy that he punched happens to be the son of a rich man, the same man who his father works for and that leads to Sae-ro-yi having to make one of two choices. Either get down on his knees, apologize to the boy who he punched and stay in school or be expelled. He chooses to live by his beliefs and chooses to get expelled. His father, who accompanies his boss Jang Dae-Hee (Yoo Jae-Myung), supports his son's decision and he also resigns from the company that has for the longest time forced him to give up on ethics and moral code in order to be able to earn a living.
The father and son duo decides to restart their life by starting a restaurant of their own. However, fate has other plans. The boy that Sae-ro-yi punched, Jang Geun-won (Ahn Bo-hyun), drives a limited edition car while in school and he is irresponsible with it. This leads to an accident that kills Sae-ro-yi's father. When Sae-ro-yi learns the truth, he wants to kill Jang Geun-won, but is stopped by Oh Soo-ah, a student supported by Sae-ro-yi's father. Sae-ro-yi is sent to jail for attacking Geun-won and because he again refuses to apologize, is imprisoned for three years.
When he does get released, Sae-ro-yi has a plan in mind. To earn enough to start a restaurant of his own and be able to earn enough money to stand up to Dae-hee. He expects that it would take seven years, and Soo-ah, who hears his plan is flabbergasted. Not only is he stubborn about starting something in seven years, but he is also certain that the restaurant has to be in Itaewon.
Now, we will see how this 29-year-old man, who is an ex-convict, manages to bring down one of the biggest conglomerate companies in Seoul.
'Itaewon Class' episodes can be streamed on Netflix on Friday and Saturday.
