Isla Bella resort in jeopardy as guests share 'unfortunate' experiences due to '90 Day: The Last Resort' filming
MARATHON, FLORIDA: Fans of '90 Day Fiance' are currently watching '90 Day: The Last Resort,' which stars some of TLC's most contentious cast members.
So far, it's been a never-ending series of shocks and tragedies, including Angela Deem and her never-ending "f-bombs."
However, no one considered the resort's actual guests, who were looking for a relaxing holiday. As a result, Isla Bella Resort has received negative feedback on TripAdvisor.
Many argue that during filming '90 Day: The Last Resort,' TLC should have arranged a block booking for the whole resort. In retrospect, it would have been the best solution.
However, they did not, and other paying guests were not informed about the filming in advance. You'd think that with Angela in the cast, they'd be aware that there might be issues for regular vacationers, but no.
'90 Day: The Last Resort' show seemingly wrecks Isla Bella guests' vacation
It seems like TLC's decision to film '90 Day: The Last Resort' has cost Isla Bella resort guests heftily. Guests were reportedly forced to endure closed pools and limited access to amenities while the shooting was taking place.
They reportedly also had to put up with Angela's frequent "f-bombs "and noisy disputes. This is hardly the perfect setting for a luxury vacation in the Florida Keys, as per Collider.
TLC owes Isla Bella's guests an apology, and maybe compensation for a holiday missed, after cutting corners by not renting out the entire resort.
Meanwhile, the cast had to be reminded in some episodes that the resort was open for business as usual with real visitors.
While TLC broadcasts are frequently taped in public places, this was an exception. Guests had planned ahead of time, but TLC seemingly ruined their holiday. They were allegedly not even informed that reality television would be shooting there.
Instead of a relaxing holiday, they were reportedly subjected to screaming battles between the many "stars." Furthermore, visitors were allegedly unable to utilize key resort facilities when the cameras were operating.
Isla Bella describes itself on its website as follows, "A beautiful, new contemporary 199 guest room luxury resort in the heart of the Florida Keys, Isla Bella is perfectly nestled in one of the most stunning locations in the country."
The description further states, "It is surrounded by a mile of waterfront at the foot of the iconic Seven Mile Bridge in Marathon, Florida. The resort has five swimming pools, multiple dining options, The Spa at Isla Bella, a full-service fitness center, several watersports and a daily activities program."
One guest even said, "Beautiful property, excellent staff, great place for my wife and I to chill for a week. The only problem was there was a reality TV show filming 2 units down from ours. The highlight was an F-bomb laced tirade at 10pm on the beach outside our door (video provided to management). The final insult was the response of management “they are guests too!”
The guest further added, "I can assure you if you or I walked down the beach throwing F-Bombs everywhere we would have been at the very least been escorted off the property by the police," as per Collider.
Without a doubt, all of this opulence is not cheap. It just doesn't seem fair for visitors to pay for their much-desired opulent vacation and wind up with Angela, Big Ed and Liz, Kalani and Asuelu, Yara and Jovi, and Molly and Kelly.
As a result, the new resort has received some of its worst TripAdvisor ratings yet.
Some visitors had conflicting opinions regarding their stay, writing, "Beautiful resort - ask about show filming upon check-in." Another person chimed in, "Awesome resort unless they are filming a reality show."
One user also wrote, "First of all they were filming episodes of a reality TV show at my Visit! Pools closed. Areas closed crew members all over resort then at check out the nerve to charge $28.00 a day for outdoor parking." A fourth user noted, "Try and Escape from Reality TV!"
One user noted, "Also there was a tv show filming on property that we were not notified about, then they took over whole areas of the resort which would be shut down anytime they decided to move filming locations." Another person recounted, "Excellent Overall, Except the Filming!"
Others added, "The hotel is overrun with TV productions and weddings. We were shuffled from one part of the hotel to another to accommodate a reality TV show production which we weren’t warned about. The bar, hotel and the adults' pool was shut down during this time unless you consented to appear. And the production crew was filming children and their families at one of the remaining pools without warning them or asking permission."
One user also commented, "Isla Bella is a beautiful resort. The spa , marketplace/cafe & beach bar all have excellent service & staff. We booked a first floor walk out room that had open space and stunning views ; unfortunately for all 5 days we were there 90 Day Fiancé was filming at the resort & mainly in front of our room."
